The japanese cover art of Other M only makes sense if you have the physical version actually. The red part is a cardboard box sleeve. Once you remove it the real case features young samus outside the suit. This box art symbolizes that you are going to see what samus is of a person. That was the intent they where going for. However the comic grid thing looks absolutely stupid

Aside from that Amazing Video dude, like always

Prime Trilogy’s box art is pretty great. It’s a collection of 3 games - it’d be way too convoluted to include aspects of all three games into one cover, considering each game has a different atmosphere, it wouldn’t look good visually. Going for the minimalist look with a grey scale, making it look more mechanical, was the way to go.

The inside of the Trilogy game (probably just the steel case) includes a GORGEOUS piece of art showcasing elements from all the games.

The Trilogy box art conveys exactly what it needs to - it’s a collection of games and Samus is the main force of it. It’s simple and says exactly what it needs to.

Fun fact, the reason metroid 1 doesn't have saves is because to make saves the cartridges needed a special thing in them, (some sort of battery modification iirc?) which was expensive and for most of the developers this was their first game, so they couldn't gather trust to invest in the game like that. Also their inexperience meant they didn't want to try anything crazy programing wise, and saves were wild for games back then.

Is this the part where I say "hey... you forgot the Metroid Dread Special Edition box art"?...
Anyway great video. I had no idea that Super Metroid had an even cooler box in Japan. Personally I lean towards Metroid 2's cover as it's just way too badass and timeless, and also probably because M2 might be my favorite Metroid game.
