That Grandmaster theme tho'. Like some huge church organ belting out some kind of religious Bach-esque counterpoint with wonderful harmonies, but underpinned by that almost demonic level distortion..... Will always love this entire OST, but that particular one kills me. I liked a lot of the music I heard on Megadrive, but, boy, this is probably hard to beat, for me anyway.

SUCH a perfect soundtrack. Reminds me of Wendy Carlos. So cinematic. Master of that FM too.

This is amazing. Perfectly odd, icy cold, very discordant in places. Matches the atmosphere of the game perfectly. Not like the typical video game music at all.

I actually listen to this stuff because it brings me back, but it also is better than 90% of today's music. Albeit, it's a midi and it's usually got a Japanese space animi feel to it (for lack of a better word) but it works. This soundtrack in particular seems to use a bit of Russian classical fused with Japanese space anime. The Amazon beat seems aboriginal until it goes all-out awesome and alludes to, and surpasses the energy of, the ending theme.

The Genesis has the best music of every version

"Siberian Tunnel" has such a "regal" aspect to it. I love the synth, it sounds like it has glass keys.

I didn't remembered the cover looked as awful as this. Or maybe at my age back then it wasn't this awful. Yuck.

Such a classic soundtrack and game...reminds me of when I lost my shit at an arcade when Marvel vs. Capcom came out and I noticed Hiryu's distinct sword slash and visual effect and I was like,"Is that....the 'shink-shink' noise from that Strider game an-OMG!!" Many quarters were lost those years.

Jogo delicioso, apesar dessa capa do Genesis, com uma versão do Strider que parece um Dennis Quaid com sobrepeso!

I feel like I'm back in the game hearing this. Amazing stuff. The first game I bought for my Genesis and still one of my faves.

There were so many great things about this game, but the music is the most important element in my opinion. Perfectly establishes the futuristic mood of the game. Ouroboros was always my favorite piece.

The "Siberian Tunnel" Theme is so eerily intoxicating.

I always loved the box art for Strider. they couldn't have gotten a more whitewashed Japanese guy in the style of the stereotypical American if they had taken a photo of Chuck Norris eating noodles in a kimono.

That game scared the shit out of me at the time... the music is astonishing, tge game frenetic and something like depressing cold... man, good times, i was just a kid.

This has to be one the best VG soundtracks of that era. The most adrenaline-pumping moments since RASTAN SAGA. And I think I actually prefer the Megadrive version to the original arcade. The synths sound even meatier
