What model years are reliable? I would like to purchase one or the range rover sport

Owning a used Land Rover is almost as expensive as going to the moon…

How can something be this unreliable

What on earth are you guys doing to Land Rovers in America/ Canada…… my Land Rover i have it 17 years is 1988 in vintage is soooo reliable.. 37 years old … we have Tdi seems to be an issue with V8 engines…

I've been on the fence on whether I want to get rid of my '05 V70R and get one of these (call it a mall crawler). I'm still slightly on the side of keeping my Swedish step child...for fear of the LR reliability...

The Volvo XC90 first gen checks all your boxes and it can come with a Yamaha v8, that can run forever. Get the Swedish Tank when the rover dies.

That is the most outdated looking vehicle I've ever seen come out of 2016.

They run great, when running.

We have a LR4(2015) which was given to us by my dads company as our family car and we adore it.
Unfortunately last time it broke down and I was told they spent around 40K USD (when converted) to fix it and it has broken down again. Current estimate by the land rover over 20K usd(when converted)

ps. kinda worth the repair due to the horrible tax system and import ban it's still can be sold for 70K+ usd (when converted)

In my experience any vehicle with a modern Can-Bus system demands battery in nothing less than Tip-Top condition otherwise its fault code central and here's a clue... its different every day😉

best engine ever!!!!!! Please chat me on the coolant issue I will let you know what to do. The AJV8 5.0 The V6 AJ126 Super Charged is NOT as sturdy. AVOID THIS ENGINE.......THE V8 5.0 is the best engine ever only and only if you dont ignore the cooling system. (SAME APPLIES TO V6 = 100% SAME MINUS 2 CYLINDERS but for some reasons not as sturdy) Do not replace engines anymore they are very modular. DO NOT IGNORE THE COOLANT LOW SIGN, CHECK YOU COOLANT EVERY SATURDAY RELIGIOUSLY. The temperature guage is just a representation of how the internals (MAY) woork. You need a diag tool that can show you COOLANT TEMP 1 AND COOLANT TEMP 2. WHICH IS COOLANT FROM ENGINE AND COOLANT TO. The Temp damages the Timing career, Injector nozzles and Ignition Coils.

I have a 2014 LR4 with the TDv6, and owned it for the last 8 years with no issues. And i take mine off road quite frequently. I feel in my personal opinion, that if you keep up maintenance, everything will be right in the world. I very much understand the risks and over the last 8 years of ownership, it has proven me wrong......so far. But at least im not driving a Toyota ;P

I was ready to purchase a Discovery, but simply could not break away from getting another LR4 for my road trip vehicle, so here I am watching videos again and shopping for another LR4.

Imagine Land Rovers being sold to a Japanese company. It would receive the biggest reliability and quality improvement of the CENTURY 🪽🔥✨

I spent half the value of my purchase price on repairs for my LR4...but I miss it so much and I wouldn't have it any other way. Hope to be able to get another one in the future.

Serious Question: Can I just swap their STUPID v6 with the VQ37 I have in the corner of my garage?
Would it work? And could I also use the Z1 Motorsports supercharger I was about to sell with the swap?
Or perhaps the Honda v6?

Why are they allowed to continue business? Also, why do they cost what they do?

I still daily a 2008 Range Rover Supercharged and it's just not worth enough money to get rid of. It certainly lives up to its reputation (the opposite of a Land Cruiser), but short of blowing the transmission or engine I think we have to keep it in the game. Just did two new front air struts from Arnott and now have realized that at least one of them was probably somewhat bad for years now. Now to fix that coolant leak, power steering leak, weird fuel vapor smell, intermittent misfiring or knocking issue, recover the front seats, and get some paint touch up and a detail... and we'll be as good as... we've been in a while. And they say I got the best year and engine range of all the L322s. I can't imagine what the other ones must be like.

So a Ram and a JLR as crew vehicles... We might not get a second TH road trip 😂

I'd love to see this guys to have own show in some streaming service. Now, when Grand tour is no more, these guys could really be the next generation of car shows. In their episodes, there is great mix of actual car enthusiasm and humor. Think, how funny special episodes there could be!
