My Granddad volunteered for The Black Watch Regiment in June 1939 and became a marksman. He was born in England to an Irish dad and loved his Scottish mom. He survived the war, had 5 kids, 8 grandkids and 1 great grandson during his 65 years. He was always tough but fair. RIP John Arthur Dolan. Every time I see these videos I think of him as a part of you.

My heritage is Great Britain in spite of my name here. I cry every time I watch. My father had albums of bagpipes and it is the sound of my youth. He fought in the Bastogne for US and had great reverence for British military history.
