Brad Dale, an early improv experiment

Somewhere I heard a motif, that inspired me to use here a few times: a quick accented chord in 16th. notes followed by a long chord a half step lower. I was commissioned to write a ballet piece in Cincinnati a number of years ago where part of the request was to utilize an Impressionist approach to the music which was to use whole-step scales in the music. This stuck in my head so much since that I find a lot of my improvisational material in this idiom, but I kind of like it...however, I've found it a little difficult to break away from totally not allowing this to enter, when I'm feeling something different and wanting to play in a different style music.
