indeed her answers were not satisfactory to say the least, including in the 'how' she answered, normally someone telling the truth does more countering of the question-based-posited-supposed-fact, but she didn't and that makes her answer quite weak. Otoh, someone who actually did her sort of work and life, which would be quite traumatic, and had lied a lot to stay alive, can be confused about the past. Also real spies are often seemingly aloof and simple-minded, bcuz it's the perfect personality to not seem like a spy (that is widely known phenom if u read about clandestine work and selection and training). However: russian society and culture isn't like most on the planet: they really are false-front ppl for whom reality and fake reality isn't that different.
