i know it might be a non existent probability but what if it was sent to probe this solar system to detect if life existed here or how advanced it was, it would explain why there was no piloting of some sorts and also because they might've not been as advanced as we thought but even then they could've been capable of disguising it and setting a trajectory to imitate a comet which wouldn't seem hard id say for an advanced civilization, as for why it suddenly shifted its trajectory when it went past us, it could be because it was no longer needed since it already sent its data thus exposing itself or because it ejected something out of it (less weight) to the place of origin thus moving differently or both, either way it's fun
