CAVALRY!!!! not Calvary. calvary is about Jesus Christ
ОтветитьCav-alry. CAV-alry!
ОтветитьWell produced and narrated, love it 👍 sub earned
Ответитьwatched to the very end, great video!
ОтветитьThe word is CAV-al-ry, not Calvary, where Jesus was crucified. C'mon, man. Otherwise, good video! Thanks!
ОтветитьCalvery dur dur
ОтветитьSo much AI garbage is in this video. I highly doubt accuracy of this AI slop.
ОтветитьCongratulations on a clear and arresting telling of this period of history.Delivered much better than most of the others.
ОтветитьCavalry = mounted military unit. Calvary is where Christ was crucified.
ОтветитьWell done!
I would put a bit less gaming clips but besides that 🎉. Also "von" is pronounced "fon", for quality feeling this is not at all a small thing.
France...lol
ОтветитьFantastic video. French general’s favoring the defensive? Well, it wouldn’t do to make a habit of it…
ОтветитьCAV-AL-RY, NOT CAL-VA-RY ! We are talking about horse soldiers, not a hill in Jerusalem !
ОтветитьIt’s 2025 and the Ukraine War is showing us that Artillery is still the King of Battle and Logistics is still the Lord of War.
The Franco-Prussian war feels old, but it doesn’t quite feel 155 years old.
Not much to say in reality. Just like in 1939, we have a french state with a weak grip on power against a german state in peak shape.
The rest are mopup details
I didn't know I needed a nearly 2 hour video on a 155 year old European war, but here we are.
ОтветитьGreat exposition and presentation, admirable research. Good luck to you and the channel! I looked through your videos for one on the Crimean war :)
ОтветитьCa-va-lerie, not Ca-la-verie, no?
ОтветитьCAV-alry, not CAL-vary
If you had only said it once I might have let it go, but you said it repeatedly
Second Schleswig war of 1864 against Denmark, Austrian Prussian war of 1866 and Franco Prussian war 1870 to 1871 are the three wars that united Germany.
ОтветитьAbsolutely brilliant but please could we have less of the awful AI generated illustrations.
Ответитьglad you ended on a note about pronunciation, not just the french, but the English to. Namely the word "cavalry". Great vid otherwise.
ОтветитьVery insightfull video about this conflict, i do salute you sir.
ОтветитьWell, I guess I'm the dissenting opinion. The scholarship is first rate, yes but....I can't believe ALAMY hasn't shut you down for using their copyrighted images and I can't believe you used them with the ALAMY logo clearly visible. They are distracting and diminish the image's impact. When I use an ALAMY image I at least airbrush the logos out!. The use of children's video game battles to illustrate actual real world battles doesn't work with adults.. I'm just saying...
ОтветитьDudes: the "v" in the word "cavalry" comes before the "l", not after. Otherwise, well done.
ОтветитьReally bad pronunciation of Moltke; turned me off. It's malt keh.
ОтветитьMoltke is pronounced "Moltkah"
German 'e' is pronounced "ah"
This is painful to watch. It took me days to get through it because I could only stand just so much disaster. You have done a very complete and excellent job with this video and would do any historian proud.
ОтветитьThere is nothing more effective in war
than CALVARY and INFALTRY, but let's not forget about TALTICS & STRALTEGY.
Yet another history channel butchering the absolute crap out of those Non-English words🤦
ОтветитьJust found your channel. Keep up with the great work. I am looking forward to more videos.
ОтветитьThis was epic. Brilliantly done. I'm sure, from the quality of this video, that your channel will grow very fast.👍👍
ОтветитьI don’t think anyone has mentioned this yet, but 'calvary' is actually pronounced 'gee-gee men'.
ОтветитьGreat video! Good analysis at the end about how the French made sure that they were not alone and were not the ones who declared war in 1914. Many people blame Germany for starting WWI but if you read Christopher Clark's book: "The Sleepwalkers" he argues that it was more of a collected blame on both sides for starting WWI. I agree.
ОтветитьVery good, but please learn to pronounce “cavalry” correctly.
ОтветитьWhat films are the battle scene clips from? Always down to find a new war flick.
ОтветитьWhat game are you keep putting up with the army men?
ОтветитьI think It's pronounced Molt-KA
Ответитьcalvary
ОтветитьThe Arms of Krupp by Wm Manchester _ Technology dominance is the new Art of War
ОтветитьGenerally excellent!
ОтветитьCa-VAL-ry not CAL-very
ОтветитьI can't
stand narrations
like this
where the
narrator
stops speaking
every few words
do you see
how annoying
this is?
Wouldn't call the prussian army for unexperienced. They had as mentioned fought denmark and Austria in less than 6 years. So.
ОтветитьThese pronunciations are bad but it’s a cool video. 🇫🇷
ОтветитьThe British Light Brigade in the Crimean War were not heavy cavalry - the clue is in their name.
Ответитьexcellent documentary. alright he is a yank so school would never mention this war that 99% of yanks have never heard of. Love the von monkey calvary and Nice pronunciation.
Ответить"Captured MacMahons marching orders." Communications security folks, don't make yourself vulnerable.
