Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Review

Has anyone tried installing on Dell XPS 15 in parallel with windows 10? Do I still have to change the system settings in the BIOS menu? I just hate to do it.

i recently got this OS and i was wondering how to install steam to it i haven't found a tutorial in english

What would you recommend for remote access from windows 7 ? Remote desktop or VNC? (newbie)

The worse release yet, so many linux applications cant even be loaded(and I mean mainline stuff), back to 14.04, so sad, dont even try and game with this crap. It is no wonder Mint day after day is beating Ubuntu down. It's all in the details folks:)

Unity really look dated.

After giving all ubuntu based distros a try along with opensuse and fedora, I found that official ubuntu is the most stable software out there. Mate is extremely buggy and so is gnome 3. My hatred for unity's cosmetic look has faded after I've themed it. Just got used to it and it works!

Nice review. I setup raid6 for my ubuntu LTS 14.04 following your previous video. It worked great and I really appreciate it!
I upgraded my server to LTS 16.4, however, I couldn't mount my raid drive. I added previous UUID mount at /mnt/rdisk, but it said "can't find this UUID". Have you tried upgrade your system with old raid drive? or do you have any better idea for it? thank you!

Which Ubuntu Distro can I use? I have a laptop with AMD E-450 HD Graphics 1.65 GHz with RAM 4 GB..... hard drive has 500 GB.

Is ubuntu desktop good enough for a nas or do I need to use ubuntu server?

Can someone please help me with this issue? I have just had 16.04 installed onto my laptop, and when I try and open 'Ubuntu Software', it doesn't let me. When I first used Ubuntu on this computer (3 days ago, so i am VERY new to this) it worked fine. I was in the middle of downloading and installing 'Chromium Browser' and one other thing, but both of them stalled out because my wifi disconnected. Anyways, when I ended up connecting back with my wifi, it wouldn't load Ubuntu Software anymore...coincidentally right when it connected again. Every time I go to open it, it just sits there in it's "searching and loading circle icon".......please help me with this!

It says that they recommend having a 2 ghz dual core processor to use 16.04. My Dell Vostro 200 from 2007 has a 1.86 ghz unit. Will the OS still run well enough for it to be useable?

I don't intend this in a mean way; Consider it a constructive criticism, but these videos would be better if he tried to be a little more natural. His unusual emphasis on certain words make him sound forced/fake...not sure if I'm describing it well but he doesn't sound comfortable/natural in front of the camera. Maybe that's just how he talks... but I like his content anyway.

With this OS being modern so to speak, it's 2016 you know.
Why should a end user being typing in command line info in order to make this OS work to some degree of satisfaction?
This sort of thing is what makes MS OS work so well for the masses.

I had bad experiences even with AMD proprietary drivers, got a gtx750 instead... Works flawless

AMD will be dead in the next 10 years, Intel integrated graphics will kill it. When I get a Nvidia card a move to a Linux distro and no comeback.

ubuntu 16.04 has many problems. ie, i sometimes start computer with a blink screen and ubuntu doesn't boot up(freeze), i must press the power button to shut it down it press one more time turn turn it on. it sucks. i really want to comeback with 14.04 but i don't know how. is there anyone can help me?

Hello, I'm planing on moving to Ubuntu, but I have a couple questions first. Will Ubuntu work good on 6GB RAM, Intel core i3 3227U, 64bit? I don't want it to be slow like windows, I actually want it to be fast. Next question is will CSGO or other games run almost as smooth as on windows?
