My credo!
I've worked under the thesis that everyone I encounter is a narcissistic, selfish, grade A #1 A-hole who has no regard for your safety or the rule of law and the road.

It's served me well.

One of your first things that you're doing is you're teaching people to use only two fingers on their break. Get your hand on the brake and use it with your entire hand.
I believe you may have done this video before you took the police course, were they taught you that the lever was for all four fingers. I don't know where the idea came that you should only use half your fingers to control a mechanism, that would be like wearing flip-flops and trying to shift and brake with a couple of toes.
It is a dangerous habit and I had just begun to use that when it almost killed me. Stop doing it

The best rule to stay alive is to quit weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds thinking that all of us idiots are able to see you within a blink of an eye, though there was a time where most motorcyclists were responsible drivers but these days all I see is that we need to watch out for you idiots, if I cared enough to dedicate the time I could send you a 100 videos car cam to prove my case. It's rare to see a motorcyclist driving responsible according to the rules of the road, and I commend them and think, now that guy might live long enough to receive his retirement.

I think We should prioritize gaps more than breaking when you're riding. Braking fast is only useful if there's nothing on your back running you down. Preload brakes will also engage your brake lights that can cause accidents on your back. Proper spacing is the most important thing you should know when riding.

Yet another brilliant video, thank you.

So glad to see you extol the virtues of putting the LEFT foot down when coming to a stop. I see so many riders struggling to start after a stop on even a slight incline, because they don’t know this technique. I see them struggling to use the right hand to simultaneously open the throttle and release the front brake. Just about manageable on a level surface, but tricky and potentially disastrous on any sort of slope.

And I love your tip about tilting just your head to the left as you stop, then putting down the left foot. It’s so important not to throw out your left leg too early, as this just destabilises the bike. Also good to put the bike in first gear as you stop, for a quick and easy take-off.

Regarding the "concertina effect", can I make a suggestion. When following someone, do not follow their rear tire. Instead, imagine they aren’t there, and concentrate on the road ahead of them, particularly approaching bends. Of course you shouldn’t ignore them completely, but your approach to bends and other hazards should be the same in a group as if you are on your own. Remember that whilst the rider in front will accelerate away from the bend before you do, he will have to brake before you do at the next one. So no need to try to catch him up.

So today I had my first ever collision with a car. Sort of. The guy was backing up and didn’t see me. I saw him, so I stopped and put my left foot down and I pressed down my brake. So the only thing that happened was guy bounced off my front wheel. Zero harm. The skill I picked up years ago thanks to this video. So thank you Ryan
