I have a 3 dollar screen protector that does the same thing...
ОтветитьSurprised that they put it in the box selling it for 100 dollars pair cloth
ОтветитьThere is a brand that makes mate iMac screen protectors for around 50 bucks, photodon is the name I think. Way cheaper and similar results. Installing that on a 27 screen must be a pain' thought,
ОтветитьOr just get an anti glare screen protector off Amazon for like 30 bucks or so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
ОтветитьThanks. Helpful!
Ответитьyou can get an iMac matte screen protector off Amazon for 20 bucks. I fail to see the difference between that and "Nano-Texture". Image quality seems to be equally compromised.
ОтветитьWas literally about to go buy the Imac nano-texture. after your video I changed my mind lol
Ответитьlooks cheap
ОтветитьGood job...the new iMacs are hideous
ОтветитьSo this is basically a matte screen protector branded Apple which is $50 on Amazon, but $500 at Apple pre-install.
ОтветитьUmmm he bought it too early now there’s a new one lol
Ответить$10 you can buy a Nano-texture glass screen protector... for your Mac and your iPhone...
ОтветитьThis is such a good review.
ОтветитьI’m a graphics student so this is just an extra $270 for me. The blurry text and screen will just be a nightmare for me. Thank you for this!
Ответитьwhen she is not worth 500
ОтветитьIn all honesty I think the nano-texture glass is awesome but it makes the image way too soft...
ОтветитьThanks! Your explanation is amazingly clear!
ОтветитьI bought the Apple Pro XDR Display Nano Texture, and I'm absolutely horrified how the grain effect the matte display creates affects my ability to focus on work. Especially on white/light colors. To all fellow designers - please avoid the Nano Texture (Matte) version of every display! It's shockingly distracting and noticeable.
ОтветитьThank You for this review. You just saved me 500 bucks on my new iMac. I really only use my Mac for Photoshop and Lightroom and I can control my backlighting at home. I would hate the fuzzy text.
ОтветитьMatt has so many trade offs that it's a bit ridiculous to pretend that it doesn't have its downsides. Especially if you are inside with mostly a controlled situation. Matt seems a better choice for a portable device. The glare for matt can be more annoying than that from a gloss screen as the glare size is so much bigger. For example, when you are pointing that light, the light takes up way more real estate in the matt.
ОтветитьI don't like nano texture glass. I just can't tolerate the decrease in sharpness and contrast.
Ответитьintro too long
ОтветитьWould it be weird looking at screens for normal day to day use to have 2 Studio displays. One with nano texture one without?
Ответитьthanks I prefer the Standard, work in a dark room
ОтветитьAnd what about e-ink devices? Did you saw the Onyx Note Air 2 ? for reading and working without destroying my eyes. I also saw there are new monitors with e-ink display.
ОтветитьThanks for making this video. It was very helpful.
ОтветитьI own one iMac with nano texture and I enjoy a lot this mat display. I don’t agree with the negative feedback about it.
ОтветитьThe iPhone 11 Pro models or newer might have a nano-textured glass back.
Ответитьthanks a lot for this review, I guess is still valid for the new studio display standard vs nano-texture.
ОтветитьI personally prefer the glossy display.
Ответитьthey can keep their glare free gimmick, I prefer clear text.
ОтветитьThank you for the comparison of how the text looks on each display, it was the decisive factor for me to choose between the two! 🖤
ОтветитьIs it me or does anyone still like the shiny reflective glass!!
ОтветитьSo Apple is charging $500-1000 more for "Matte Finish" glass? Really? I know they're a luxury brand but this is just extortion. Charging up to 1K for something that came standard on many computers for decades.
ОтветитьI’m pretty late to the party, but this was posted on my birthday and I didn’t even know it
ОтветитьTLDR: Standard = Glossy (IMO: Superior Image) "Nano-Texture BS" = Matte (basically the same as found on something like 99% of Non-Apple displays)
ОтветитьThanks mate
ОтветитьThat is really helpful!
ОтветитьThis an important video for accessibility purposes also, since people with eye problems want high popi screens with lots of contrast and high readability!
ОтветитьHey Man..after many many years. Its decided. Big NO to nano screen. Thanks Man.
ОтветитьNano is the worst for image processing, because you can't tell if the image is brighter or if something is reflected on the glass
ОтветитьHearing you say pop the cherry sent me into a weird abstraction
ОтветитьThanks for not shining your light into our eyes, Ken! lol
ОтветитьWatching this after the new oled iPads released 😂
ОтветитьHere because of the new iPad Pro and I can’t decide if I want to spend that extra money or not. Thank you!
ОтветитьYikes.
Apple should not call that "Nano Texture", this is a full on sandblast matte coating.
Hi. On a deal, I’m getting a nano textured Apple Studio Display for $300 less than the one with standard glass.
I don’t have any light in front of the monitor, so reflections aren’t a concern .
I don’t mind paying the extra for the standard glass, if that’s the better option. What would you recommend?
Enjoy the bonus episode! The iMac got here early, so I kinda rushed to get this one out the door. I hope you like it!
