Did you use triggers or raycasts?? to detect contact, or just check the distance between them and play/sync the animation at hit??

this is best looking melee combat i have seen. does you have used ray cast ,sphere cast or collider .your hit detection is awesome and how did you manage to register single hit instead of multiple hits.
