Great video. Someone needs to learn difference between bow and stern though! You was at the bow of the ship, in front of the bridge. Not at the stern or back of the ship. Great stuff tho lads
ОтветитьGetting down is easy. Trying to get back up the cliff, is usually harder.
Isn’t it nice venturing 😂👍
Crazy how fast a ship can deteriorate getting pounded by the sea.
ОтветитьI visited a couple days before it split. Hopefully it'll get dragged out and become one with the cold water coral. :)
ОтветитьThe good thing about the fire is it will rust faster.
ОтветитьNever climb rusty structures without proper gloves on ya hands, try wearing long sleeves also, and get yourself a tetanus shot just in case, urbex is fun but do it smart, don't risk. The vid is amazing, keep up the good work lads.
ОтветитьYou people are imbeciles. The manner per which you have presented your visit to this piece of worthless maritime junk as an "mission," (sic), as if you were exploring Noah's Ark on Mount Everest, or some of the old shipwrecks in the Southern Hemisphere, which actually would be an expedition is utterly contemptible.
Visiting the wreck of SS America, after she broke her towline and drifted ashore in the Cape Verde lslands would be an adventure. And the wreck was visited by people from all over the world. Until her hull and superstructure progressively collapsed and she disappeared. After about 15 years. The wreck was visited, explored, sacked and looted by visitors tourists, thieves, vandals, souvenir hunters and scrapmen. Who removed many of her interior fittings. Particularly parts fabricated in copper and bronze. And stainless steel.
Visiting the wreck was challenging. And dangerous. The wreck, even if hard aground, stood some distance away from the beach. Requiring one to swim. Or get out to the wreck by boat. At least person drowned swimming to or from the wreck.
ln this instance, the wreck is well up on the rocks. And easily accessible from the land. It is easy and safe to approach and board the wreck. And does not require ropes, ladders or climbing equipment. You imply in your fucking stupid video, that there is an element of "danger" or "risk" associated with boarding the wreck. But, you are not wearing any climbing harness nor any protective or biohazard equipment. And you crawl all over the wreck like children on an piece of playground equipment.
As well (as well), if visiting the wreck was "dangerous," one would assume that Cork County Council, Cork Gardai, or the lrish Naval Service would have interdicted visits to the wreck upon this basis. Signs would be posted in the vicinity of the wreck. As well as on the wreck herself. lnterdicting visits to the wreck. There is no evidence of such signs.
As well, it is apparent that the wreck is accessible to anyone wants to visit her. There is an path or trail along the shore. And the wreck is visually accessible at 1/4 mile distance. At least. And anyone who is not morbidly obese, suffering coronary heart failure, confined to an wheelchair, 9 months pregnant, blind or retarded can visit the wreck. Even the 4 imbeciles who filmed this preposterous video were sufficiently physically and intellectually "robust" to visit the wreck.
The 4 stupid imbeciles who filmed this stupid video refer to their visit to the wreck as an "mission." (sic). This implies that they were visiting the wreck in some sort of official capacity. Upon these bases, did these 4 imbeciles (who appear to be Scots and not lrish) "clear" their "mission" with Cork County Council, Cork Gardai, or the lrish Government?
As well, what was the purpose of their so - called "mission"? To find buried treasure? To find the Holy Grail? To find the so called Ark of the Covenant"? To discover evidence that Joe Biden is an imbecile? As if further evidence were needed
As well, the 4 imbeciles who filmed this piece of trash ignorantly (or deliberately) refer to the wreck as an "ship." She is not. The wreck is an "Motor Vessel," an "MV." An maritime fishing trawler. Her engines failed, her crew (probably Russians, Estonians, Filipinos or lndonesians), were evacuated. And she was left to drift. Tides and currents eventually cast her up on the south - west coast of lreland. And there she will stay. Until tides and storms batter her to pieces. ln about 20 years.
These 4 imbeciles also make no reference to the fact that whereas the vessel was intact at the time she was first cast up, she is currently missing her mid section. Which has obviously been cleanly cut away. By an salvage company. At the direction of the lrish government. l believe that this was done to prevent the vessel from going adrift again. And becoming an hazard to maritime navigation. An element in the matter that apparently was lost on the four nautical geniuses who filmed this video.
And the vessel, like nearly all vessels which are wrecked or stranded, nearly everywhere in the world, has been pillaged, sacked and looted. And vandalized. The vessels forward superstructure has been burnt out by vandals. lmplying that there was sufficient flammable material aboard this section of the vessel, such as beds, furniture, carpeting and wood panelling, available to burn.
lt also implies that there was sufficient fuel still aboard the vessel, such as gas for the stoves in the galley, or fuel in her tanks. To use as an accelerant to start this fire. l assume that the vessels tanks had been pumped out by the time the 4 (or is it 5) imbeciles filmed their fucking stupid video. To prevent the vandals (who, one assumes were either Tinker children or the children of nigerian "asylum seekers"), from returning and setting the whole ship alight.
This was an preposterously stupid video. Filmed by 4 or 5 stupid people. lf these morons embark upon any so - called "missions" in the future, their primary mission ought to be to educate themselves. So that they won't be so stupid.
It would be very interesting, to organize a mission to rescue all that scrap from that place, I am a civil engineer and I observed how there are ships that have been shipwrecked everywhere, without any world institution worrying about scrapping all these materials, I am going to set up an organization to scrap these shipwrecks, sure.
ОтветитьIt would appear that roughly Aug 2022 or shortly before there was another fire on the ship that transferred to some of the nearby field (I'm guessing the cliff hiding ferns... And now there is talk of removal of the ship before further health and safety related incidents occur. This was pretty cool to see this exploration... too bad you all were not able to make it before the initial fire..
ОтветитьSome of the signs you got on film is norwegian🙄
ОтветитьGreat job lads. This Corkman now living in the States appreciates your excellent work. I had not heard of this wreck.
Really appreciate the narration along with the great camera and drone work. Glad you stayed safe while on board.
Morons
ОтветитьIt don’t look like it runs too good now.
ОтветитьHey the front of a ship is the bow not the stern.
ОтветитьIt is a SHIP duck head💀💀💀
ОтветитьAnd it haset driffted a part the carog hold has brokeb up gone💀💀💀
ОтветитьHow did the middle split so cleanly. And where did it go?
ОтветитьI'll never understand why people knowingly go exploring in running shoes. Like not even hiking shoes just some foam soled stretchy shoes...
Ответить💙⚓️
Ответить🏴☠️ shiver me timbers
Ответитьnow that they mentioned it, i would love for someone to find and use that forklift one last time.
ОтветитьAmazing video lads also gave ya channel a share to a mate who likes the urbex scene 👌🏻🤗🤗
ОтветитьSomeone probably did not like the fact that
People came there so they burnt the
Accommodation to stop people ca
Coming to the site, a shame if you ask me , if not burnt you could have spent the on in it . The life boats was consumed in the fire.
The bridge is in aluminium so it has melted, the steel plate h
Just buckles and get stripped of paint. Then the rusting starts big time.
The hull is cleaned from burning oil and lubricating oil ,so there are no risk of oil spill.
great video. sorry lads that ye had to see it burnt. For some reason in Ireland we burn anything that is left abandoned. 🙄
ОтветитьWell done all. Amazing video indeed. This is so professional, but at the same time unique and personal. In another world / time this would be a BBC documentary . That tower climb in the first half of the vessel, now way ! Your narration is excellent. Mark,
ОтветитьWow.
ОтветитьSeen it before when it was really foggy it looked so cool
ОтветитьIt looks like you had a great time
Ответитьhow long do you think it will be for the ship over turns?
Ответить"Right on the ships stern" Dude, that was the bow. The stern is at the back.
ОтветитьIt’s a shame it wasn’t beached on soft sand, I would have turned it into my next house 😀
ОтветитьSounds like it lived up to what you were hoping for. Curious how much it has changed since the last time it was likely used for the purpose the ship was meant for. perhaps carrying vehicles ? Nothing ornamental about it. Shame about the fire. Quite curious about the reason behind it being disowned and drifting for so long. At least you got a good look and hopefully went for a nice meal and a pint or 2 to celebrate afterwards
ОтветитьExpert video lads, did ya see any bass? 👀😉
ОтветитьGreat video. Very dangerous but great vdieo.
ОтветитьMy father used to swim at Ballycotton as ayoung man.
ОтветитьColin O'Dowd from County Clare set the fire he did our old school as well feckin' cunt !
Ответитьbow, not stern
ОтветитьWith respect lads your damm stupid.
ОтветитьBow -> front. Stern -> rear end. Cabin 😂 --> Bridge.
I live in East Cork, you captured our area nicely but lads.... this wss very dangerous indeed 😢
How can it be a ghost ship when the crew were abandoned it? It quit working & there was a hurricane going straight for them so the crew of 10 abandoned it & were picked up by the coast guard.
ОтветитьGreat footage of how the MV Alta looked, back in 2022. She has deteriorated a lot since then, having weathered many a storm. What an amazing back story, this old ship has. It’s remarkable that she even reached her present location, having drifted without a crew, for so long.
ОтветитьYou obviously have no clue what the word "iconic" means ... 😞
ОтветитьAmazing footage you are very courageous and pleasant to watch very chilled thanks 😊
Ответитьexcellent video. thanks
ОтветитьAmazing how quickly the elements can break down something so large to a pile of scrap.....another ten years on the beach and youll be able haul it off a piece at a tume on a truck.
ОтветитьI feel like i need a tetanus shot after just watching this.
ОтветитьAs for the cause of the fire...I think someone left the oven on.
ОтветитьAll that will be left of that wreck in another 20 years will be that engine. Great explore
ОтветитьEngine room was the best part. Fascinating
Ответить
