Hi Richard. Really enjoying your conversations and speculations. I would love to chat and explore. I see this as a synoptic reintegration of Pythagoreanism

What I am interested in is disproving the beliefs about "white Supremacy," or the beliefs that certain desirable traits are only, or linked at a higher rate to the white skin color trait; and I think I can do so by creating an argument how the belief that desirable traits are linked to the white skin color trait caused selection of the desirable traits and the linking of them to white skin color through the mechanism you described. Although scientists cannot argue for the social implications of their own research, their scientific colleagues can argue for this and make social commentary. The creation of a new belief causes the future selection of the desirable traits previously thought to be linked to white skin color. Sounds like a simple idea, but I am very sure just like "total dissolution of self" during enlightenment and awakening is a simple idea because it seems to be a immediate to our awareness already and always, this practice is also just as immediate to our awareness. I think the false belief that certain desirable traits are linked only or at a higher rate to the white skin color trait is present all over the world in minds as apart of mating practices formed within cultures is a gradient. Thus, we can solve the worlds problems by fighting this gradient through arguing for the creation of the beliefs that cause the future selection of desirable traits to be linked in ways previously not using this mechanism. Belief in this mechanism can change the world and many of the problems of earth. In addition, the same can be done for all of the desirable traits linked to the trait of intelligence. There is nothing wrong with the trait of white skin color being desirable over other: since white skin is given privilege and opportunity in the economy and by culture, any one person is free to desire that for this reason and not the reason and belief that desirable traits are linked to this trait. As you can see, if minds and thinking do natural selection at the level of organisms, then natural selection at this level begins with belief even if it is a false belief. (sorry if my ideas are all over the place, I am at my best when I am outside of two weeks since my last drink of alcohol.) Obviously, the key to changing the world is the belief in variation as emerging properties explained and proven in Michael Levin's research. When I was studying undergraduate philosophy I also was invited to enroll in classes in the faculty of Women's Studies and it was there that I draw my greatest insight. Since then, the insight that beliefs that generate hate are always accompanied by, and possibly always prior to, beliefs generating self-hate. I think it is safe to say that every corner of the world has either held the belief that white skin color is linked to desirable traits, or has been exposed to it by its proximity colonization. If beliefs and mind are natural selection at the level of the organism, then it can be seen how hateful beliefs occurring at this level can create a hateful world through the process of natural selection and even be stored into our genetic make-up. This is also the way out of a hateful world.

where did genes come from? how did the atoms figure out how to come together and hold to each other in the way they do?

yes, "products" don't influence downward. this is not separation. the separation is asserting that magically, organisms are now spooky agents that are over and above the sum of constituents. products don't cause anything, because products just are nexuses of constituents; they are not separated from what they merely are.

this is all quite cool, just please don't conclude from all this complex unfolding that suddenly there are "free agents" or that this is some elan-vital-esque hard emergence with truly really real™️ downward causation.

all this is nifty and interesting, but it's still all exhaustively mechanistic and probably deterministic, or not even that, just necessitarian (see amy karofksy's defense of necessitarianism).

One of the least talked about elements in evolution is that evolution is not just genetic (biological), but practical (physical), artistic (emotional), technological (intellectual), and universal (philosophical), too, if nothing else. Information natural selection (compatible patterns combining) and random mutation (those combined patterns splitting unpredictably) happens in far more than just DNA. The "smart" or "intelligent" behavior/work/function of single cells is on the physical level, making practical decisions based on BOTH genes AND environment, with information on a physical level (senses) mating and creating new information patterns in the cell, to "learn".

And these kinds of non-DNA information procreation (life/consciousness) of the physical, emotional, intellectual, and philosophical levels might very well be possible in non-DNA based individuals, too. I've certainly never seen this in anything other than biological Earthlings (animal, vegetable, fungal, etc.), but I don't see any reason at this point to rule it out in the future. Silicone based life/consciousness evolving (not being designed whole cloth, though) might be totally reasonable. Current computers can't get there, but future ones might, if they had the semi-independent capacity to have their own goals (like DNA) that are unpredictable (randomly mutated) and not programmed by anyone else (even their "parents").
