ОтветитьGood to hear from you again Tony. I'm in love with your lab. More and more I find myself hanging out with techies who call their workshops 'labs', because that's what they are. The transition point between 'workshops' and 'labs' appears to be the installation of a GPS disciplined crystal-ovenized frequency reference that is then connected to all the rest of the test equipment on the bench(s). I crossed over to 'lab' status many years ago. A home-brew WWVB disciplined 1 MHz double oven crystal reference in 1991 led to obtaining a rubidium std, that then led to the GPS referenced 10 MHz standard and distribution system. I used to think I was just crazy. But now I see I'm part of a worldwide group of people who quietly put together precision electronics labs in which to experiment and work on their projects. Of course, I'm also crazy, but now I know I'm far from alone in my craziness.
ОтветитьHi there, love your videos and longtime subscriber of your channel, i see you have a couple of great yaesu HF radios what is your call sign, mine is DV5CAJ from the philippines, cheers.
ОтветитьIt looks like Rigol is trying to copy the looks of a LeCroy Waverunner. I use both LeCroy and Tek scopes, but my LeCroy is a four channel 350 MHz scope. I believe it's a 9425, and an older scope, but still performs great.
ОтветитьI ended up replacing frontpanel switches on one of those RACAL counters.. They seem to fail after a while (decades...Lol). Always enjoy your videos
Ответитьładne urządzenia ... pozdrawiam
ОтветитьTony is going to create sleepless nights for all us nerds out here. Especially interested into the Rigol scope. Maybe you should borrow the monitor from Peter's TRX lab and hook it up to the Rigol. That would beat the boring filter curve he has been showing us for years. Rigol's cheapest 802 has been hacked to be an 900 series going from 70MHz to nearly 250MHz.
ОтветитьRigol scope will be interesting to see, I am looking at their MSO 5000 series as the dual channel waveform generator will be useful for me and I don't know of another scope with a dual channel waveform built into it.
ОтветитьI am looking forward to seeing how you get on with those new RIGOL Scopes Tony, that Fluke 1952a was a brilliant counter, i remember changing the Caps around the PSU in one of them, beautifully built inside.
ОтветитьNo matter how many frequency counters you deploy, "you can't beat the laws of physics, Captain!" :-) Looking forward to the upcoming episodes, Tony. Lovely stuff!
ОтветитьHey Tony!
Ответить👍
Hartelijke groeten Ron Elias
Very nice gear there! I recognise a certain ebay seller from the photo, their name scotttrade - I had a big problem with that seller when something arrived damaged and they took many days to reply to messages and were unhelpful and rude, and I did not get a full refund. I advise anyone not to deal with them.
