One thing that is insanely OP about this guy was his ability to consolidate his army so effectively in new locations. Darius was prepared on the battleground after losing the hill. Then Alexander just marches to the battleground and sets up, a place where the Persians where already set up for over a day! And Alexander's army not only held their ground where necessary but even moved synchronously to the right and allowed the middle attack. HOW? They just got there how did they consolidate so well already? You would imagine most armies would just be flustered entering the new location and getting rushed by the opposition. Communication amongst his army must have been a thousand years ahead of the Persians.

~ TIME IS UP !! John 3:16 For God loved the world, so He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Realise you are a SINNER ! You can NOT earn your way into heaven ! JESUS is the ONLY way to Salvation ! Call upon the name of JESUS to Save you ! BELIEVE that JESUS came in the flesh, lived a sinless life and then died on a CROSS ! TRUST that God raised JESUS from the dead ! By FAITH accept the shed BLOOD of JESUS ALONE as payment for YOUR SINS ! God is about to pour out JUDGEMENT on the world for 7 terrible years. Only true Christians will suddenly vanish and escape this punishment. Aliens are a LIE ! May the LORD soften your hearts. Accept this GOSPEL now, the Good News of JESUS CHRIST.

Alexander the Great.
The original Chad.

Led the royal squadron Companion Cavalry in person.
Never lost a battle.
Untouchable military commander that won’t be seen again until the rise of Napoleon.

Alexander was a brilliant commander, but he wasn’t a very good political leader.
Napoleon was excellent at both.

What a corruption for Macedonians the size of Alexander the great army was right but , the strength of the Persian army was somewhere around 1.000.000-1.250.000 million soldiers. Additionally Parmenion suggested they attack at night so as : 1 Macedonians not to be scared of the Persian massive size and 2: the Persians would not be ready . The suggestion of Parmenion was rejected. In more detail , Alexander the Great responded to him ού κλέπτω τήν νίκην . That's means I don't steal the victory. That phrase denoting his prowess and desire to win without the Persians being unprepared for the best to win . 😢

1k vs 40k losses? Either the Macedonians were extremely exceptional warriors of which each is able to kill 40 enemies, or the Persians were lacking in actual battle experience or lead by commanders who don't know what they're doing.

30,000 knights against 7,000 knights, it is hard to believe that these were the numbers.
The Persian cavalry was strong, I think that the Macedonians were slightly outnumbered.
Or if the numbers were really those, Darius kept many knights and infantry in reserve and therefore the numerical superiority was not crushed during the battles, precisely because Darius had many in reserve to defend him.
Without prejudice to the fact that the Macedonians did something epic, in conditions of numerical inferiority.

Great video ! Alexander the Great visited the site of Ancient Troy in 334 B.C., as he embarked on his campaign against the Persian Empire, leading a unified Greek Army (Hellenic League).

The visit to Troy held both personal and strategic significance for Alexander. On one hand, it fulfilled his long-held desire to pay tribute to his hero Achilles and connect with the glorious past of Greek mythology.

On the other hand, the visit served as a powerful symbolic gesture that showcased his intention to unite the Greek world under his rule and carry on the legacy of the legendary heroes.

Upon reaching the Tomb of Achilles, Alexander took a moment to pay his respects and acknowledge the greatness of the legendary warrior.

Then, Alexander poured oil over the tomb, a customary practice in ancient Greek funerary rituals, symbolizing purification and sanctification.

He also placed garlands of flowers and foliage on the tomb, signifying honor and respect for the deceased.

Next, Alexander and Hephaestion sacrificed animals, likely horses, to honor the spirits of Achilles and Patroclus. This ritual was meant to appease the souls of the dead and seek their favor.

Finally, Alexander is believed to have organized athletic games at the site, following the ancient Greek tradition of hosting such competitions in memory of deceased heroes.

By paying homage to Achilles, Alexander was reinforcing his connection to the heroic past and legitimizing his claim to lead the Greek world.

After Troy and his first victory at the battle of the Granicus, while leading a unified Greek Army (Hellenic League) to avenge the Persian invasions in Greece 150 years prior, Alexander the Great sent 300 suits of full Persian armour (to honor the legendary last stand of the 300 Spartans in Thermopylae) to Athens, as a votive offering to Goddess Athena, to be hung on the Acropolis.

He ordered an inscription to be fixed over them; “Alexander, son of Philip and all the Greeks, present this offering from the spoils taken from the barbarians inhabiting Asia".

A statue group, known as the Granicus Monument, was erected by Alexander in the sanctuary of Zeus at Dion. This consisted of bronze statues by Lysippus, of Alexander with twenty-five of his companions who had died in the initial cavalry charge, all on horseback.

Alexander the Great is a sacred, immortal, legendary figure for us Greeks. Mostly for uniting all Greek City States and Kingdoms and spreading the unique Hellenic culture to the edges of the world. The rightful descendant of legendary Achilles.

Eternal Hellas 🔥🇬🇷

Like most words in the Greek language that have a profound etymology and an ancient background, Alexander’s name (Alexandros in Greek) is derived from the ancient Greek components alexo (I defend) and aner (man), literally “Defender of Men”.

There were even some Greek officers and counselors in the family and court of Darius. One of them, named Charidemus, offended the king very much by the free opinion which he expressed of the uselessness of all his pomp and parade in preparing for an encounter with such an enemy as Alexander.

"Perhaps," said Charidemus, "you may not be pleased with my speaking to you plainly, but if I do not do it now, it will be too late hereafter. This great parade and pomp, and this enormous multitude of men, might be formidable to your Asiatic neighbors; but such sort of preparation will be of little avail against Alexander and his Greeks. Your army is resplendent with purple and gold. No one who had not seen it could conceive of its magnificence; but it will not be of any avail against the terrible energy of the Greeks. Their minds are bent on something very different from idle show. They are intent on securing the substantial excellence of their weapons, and on acquiring the discipline and the hardihood essential for the most efficient use of them. They will despise all your parade of purple and gold. They will not even value it as plunder. They glory in their ability to dispense with all the luxuries and conveniences of life. They live upon the coarsest food. At night they sleep upon the bare ground. By day they are always on the march. They brave hunger, cold, and every species of exposure with pride and pleasure, having the greatest contempt for any thing like softness and effeminacy of character. All this pomp and pageantry, with inefficient weapons, and inefficient men to wield them, will be of no avail against their invincible courage and energy; and the best disposition that you can make of all your gold, and silver, and other treasures, is to send it away and procure good soldiers with it, if indeed gold and silver will procure them."

From "Alexander the Great" by Jacob Abbot
