The Moscow McDonalds. Gorbachev opened it up to capitalism and Putin waged war and known capitalism left the country. It only took 32 years. Kind of sad even though I despise McDonalds food

It’s time for HBO to feature them as a series. They’d do it right, with an incredibly high budget and would cast it brilliantly. I’m so enamored with this beautiful family yet forever shocked at their horrifying end.

Rest in peace.

Under the Mask of being Bolsheviks. A savage, brutal vicious sacrifice was made of the Czar & his family. 300 Years of Royal Russian Linage was sacrificed in a Ritual Blood Vendetta against everything Russian. This sacrifice was made against the Great Russian Orthodox Church, against the Rule of Czar and against all that was Christian in Russia. The Czar, Czarina & their five children were defenders of the faith & the best Christian family in Europe.
Russia & the world must know who these murders were and the calamity they brought to Russia and the world. The revolution and those who drove it had something much older and more sinister in store for humanity. Ten's of millions of Christians were murdered and starved in Russia itself.. as much as a hundred million more were killed and starved in China and other parts of Asia. This small group in Europe were the tip of the spear that drove the revolution. There would not have been a revolution had this small group not been financed by their capitalist tribal members in London & NYC. This piece of history is only one truth of a much bigger body of crimes against man! There is a formidable intelligentsia at work erasing their crimes and rewriting history as a self serving narrative to benefit themselves. Do not be fooled by this deception, deceit & devious intent. Find out for yourself. Humanity's peaceful future depends on it.

People with common sense know that President V.Lenin and V.Putin is the greatest leader in the modern world. The collapse of the Soviet Union is the greatest trauma in the history of human development.
The current Ukr story is like the US is directing, sponsoring, protecting terrorist groups such as Polpot, Fulro, Vang Pao ... based in the US to harm other countries.
Even if the Russians are pro-US media, misrepresented and smeared.
Thank you to Russia for helping the entire system of industry, defense, health care, education, transportation, construction, hydroelectricity... and brainpower for the Vietnamese to win the US imperialist invasion.
Thank you to President Putin and Russia for writing off $10 billion debt for Vietnam.
The US and its vassals are no different from filthy hyenas under the labels of black vests.

What I love about these older docs, is the interviews with actual witnesses of these events.

They also use gifted narrators, with wonderful voices...no awful, auto generated AI narration.

Quality narration died with David McCullough. The women narrating this doc, Sian Phillips, starred in Dune, and The Age of Innocence.

Considering the consequences for Imperial Russia of the conflict which as the Czar of Russia he was ultimately responsible for the dire repercussions which his kingdom suffered, therefore considering all this it could be said to be hardly surprising that he suffered the ultimate fate as did so many of his subjects, although it remains a sad outcome for his family that their fate was inexorably intertwined with his. The Bill for the Russian nation could barely have been higher, the sum total perhaps never to be known. What is certainly not conjecture is the consequences which besides the butchers Bill was exasperated by the further massive loss of life caused by the vicious civil war which followed the Bolshevik seizure of the reins of power in Petrograd and subsequent counter revolution by those who wished for an alternative gov who possessed alternative pole policies.

Oh Nicky yes Alex my darling little nodding doll what do you think will happen tomorrow? Ah I am afraid you must ask our kindly guard. We will have a birthday party? No. We will go visit cousin Georgie in England yes? No. Oh Nicky not another Faberge Egg? No. It is cold here, we will all move to one of our summer palaces but Nicky darling I don't like to eat off the solid good plates. No my darling. Ask the guard. Peasant, what are we going to do tomorrow? Before you are shot or after? After nothing! Oh Nicky, Nicky my head is starting to nod again. Pray to father Rasputin my dear. The Romanov grip on reality.

I don't think that Rasputin was the problem. The lack of a decent politician to replace the very able, and highly respected, prime minister Stolypin, who was the one that made all of the reforms that had the Empire going in the right direction. Rasputin was right when he wrote the letter to the Czars imploring him to not enter the war on either side. He should've listened to him instead of his ministers, the British, and French but didn't.

Kerensky's main problem was that he was too inflexible and stubborn. Once he became prime minister he should've taken Russia out of the war instead of insisting that they stay in it, ignoring the objections of his population and the men in his military. He was popular before and enjoyed credibility with the left. He first came to attention and became popular in 1906 when he was legal council in the political trials of revolutionaries that participated in the Revolution of 1905. In 1912 he demanded, and then became head of, the Duma Commission for the Lena Goldfields Massacre of 1912. He was then head of the Petrograd Soviet. His credentials among the socialists were solid. Instead of becoming a dictator I'm sure he would've gone ahead with the Constituent Assembly that was to occur in November of 1917. Unlike Lenin and the Bolsheviks, he would've accepted the results, even if he didn't come out on top. His group, the Socialist Revolutionary Party, did come in first place, after all. Sadly, none of that happened and Russia had to go through a five-year civil war. Following that the population then had to endure almost seventy years of Communist dictatorship.
