I remember when every candidate accepted to interview him except for Biden, who consistently refused to meet with him, afraid that his tough questions regarding universal health care would hurt his campaign. Shame on Biden, who now decided to finally interview him after securing the nomination just to use him as an advertisement tool. I'm still happy that Ady gets to ask his important questions from Biden, but Biden has shown complete lack of character and backbone with his opportunistic reactions to Ady's calls for an interview.

The problem with medicare for all is there a lot of people who like their private insurance and don't want to lose it. Why should they be forced to do so? Government run anything tends not to work very well. Are you happy with the service you get at the DMV, with the IRS, poor roads, bad schools? So trusting government to do better in health care is wishful thinking. The better option is keep private insurance but create a high deductible catastrophic coverage for serious illness or accidents. All other regular type care else you pay cash, such as physicals, lab tests, more routine type treatments. For the very poor, government could cover their premiums. You have to give people a reason to care what they spend if you really want to get prices to come down. People need to have an interest in what they pay and what they receive and costs would come down when providers had to compete like they do in every other aspect of the market and the economy. Look at prices for cell phones. Every year or two they drop relative to the quality and features, same with computers. Car prices tend rise a bit but quality and features are vastly improved from a generation ago. The one area of health care that actually works well is plastic surgery and that is because it's not regulated and government does not interfere. People pay out of pocket for the care they want at a price they are willing to pay. Let the market work.
