Well done brother. The issue is, people oversimplify . They insist It must be either or , when many times it is AND ! They also assume everything they expect to happen Must be done so at the Same time. For instance, God is said to recall and return Jews to their land, He has also promised to restore them and forgive them. God has declared that He will dwell with them and Rule from Jerusalem. ALL These details are true ! BUT, it is an Assumption to say that they must All be accomplished simultaneously! They'll never consider that God is working His plan out in stages. Because The Lord Returned them to their land in 1948 does not obligate God to do the rest of His plans at the same time because that's how they have it figured out. This is why, as you said about 1948, that both are true, not Either OR. You sound like me when I tell people to just look at Israel.. Their story alone proves The Lord is God and His Word is Amazing and it is Truth ! Keep Running for the Crowns brother, I thank our Lord for your ministry and teacher's heart. Do you really believe that the righteous one who is persecuted unto death should be raised up and glorified? Then what is the best example of that? When you finally recognize that the messiah is a poor and persecuted righteous man that God has restored and raised to life, then you also will be raised to new life and glorified.

I’m by no means an authority on the subject, but Ezekiel 37:1-14 is indeed a powerful interplay between both allegory and metaphor. We are told this is a vision which indicates a spiritual and divine matter: each step however that Ezekiel is commanded to do

1. Speak to the bones — which is an image of Israel being dismantled and scattered yet coming together to form a house.

2. speak to the sinews (joins the bones together and gives them their movement) we see the inner workings of a people that’s coming together, culturally, societally, politically etc.

3. Speak and flesh will grow up on the bones adds more layers to this, we see Israel as a great nation fully functioning as a state, a people, with a thriving army and economy etc.

4. We then see skin come up over the flesh. Skin was/is used for a covering, we see Moses was directed to add skins to the tabernacle and later in Ezekiel 47 he speaks about skin as the covering for the temple (perhaps this could be referring to the rebuilding of a temple… I don’t particularly believe there will be a 3rd temple before Jesus returns, but this could be argued as evidence to support it here), but skin also means a divine covering and protection.

What’s interesting to note here in the text is the Hebrew grammar.
Weha’aleti uses both prefixes and a form that contributes to its nuanced meaning:

Waw-conjunction — This indicates sequence or connection as in and.

But when we add the stem — Hiphil prefix — This causative prefix indicates that the subject (who is God by the way God) causes the action to happen.He is always the Cause of everything just like in Romans 12:1-2.

So, weha’aleti is a weqatal form:
The weqatal structure gives it an imperfect function that denotes sequential or future action. So the grammar is letter us know that with each action (from bones, sinews, flesh, skin, breath) it’s all in sequence and denotes a period of time between each cause or period, pointing to a future event that brings the stage of full restoration to completion— other words, the restoration happens in sequential stages.

Thus, while it is rooted in perfect morphology, its imperfect sequential meaning dominates the context. There are literally 4 stages that take place for Israel to become restored.

I pastor in southeast Oklahoma and my brother pastors out in Las Cruces, NM. He believes in replacement theology, I believe the Bible. I’m excited about our thanksgiving dinner debate over this issues. I’ve been preparing for 3 weeks. Great teaching. Nuanced is the right word. This reminds me so much of the debate on whether or not we are in the Kingdom. Yeshua is reigning at the Father's right hand, yet he will reign on Mount Zion. "Yes, but not quite" theology. Just as Yeshua still has aspects of Messianic qualification to accomplish at his second return, so Israel will not be fully restored until the second coming.

Hi Joel I've heard you recently speak about the 2 witnesses of revelation 11 and they in your opinion coming in the spirit of Moses and Elijah.
My question is the word spirit in hebrew i believe is in the masculine so most people are expecting 2 men but do you think it's possible that the spirit of 1 of these 2 witnesses could actually abide in a female so a man and woman coming in power as God originally created them, a Holy marriage as it were under Gods divine purpose?

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Gesenius’ Lexicon suggests, that the meaning of H2852 is ‘to cut, to divide’, while in translation we see the word ‘determined’ being used.

In light of the definition given above; below is my translation, using the exact ordering of the Masoretic Text (as given on the Bible tool app); which I identified with the strongs numbers, followed by the Hebrew word, or just the word when not numbered by the strongs.

I have not excluded words that are doubled; in parentheses, or not numbered at all; nor have I rendered words according there strongs numbers, if wrongly identified, as all translation renderings, and manuscript editing do to some degree, under differing theories. Below is the text straight forward, and with no manipulation of order.

Dan.9.24:
There are H5921 עַל־ divided H2852 נֶחְתַּךְ seventy H7657 שִׁבְעִים weeks H7620 שָׁבֻעִים; for the holy H6944 קָדְשֶׁךָ city H5892 עִיר (old Jerusalem); and for your people H5971 עַמְּךָ, to end ולחתם the rebellion הַפֶּשַׁע 6588; and to restrain H3607 נֶחְתַּךְ sin H2304 חַטָּאת ( 2 Thes. 2.6-7).`

And here is my first question: is it grammatically right to read that verse as such?

Here we have an intended thought play, between a “separate” set of 70 weeks (70/70). Which is slightly veiled within the text (as will be shown below); and with a divided 70 weeks, which is what one would naturally conclude, in simply reading the “62” in the preceding passages (7+62×1).

[These sins H2304 ] חטאות is doubled in Heb., and not rendered in the A.V) (will be brought to an end) H2856 at the coming H935 punishment H5771; which will be for purging H3722, cp. Dan.12.10).

The vision H2377, and its sealing up H2856 (Dan.12.4) are concerned with the age H5769 of righteousness H6664; and is when the holy H6944 of holies, H6944 will be anointed H4886 (Ez. 43-48).

This prophecy H530 (Dan.9.25) to some H4480 will be made understood H7919, and known H3045; that from the building H7919, and restoration H7725 of the command H1697, coming from H4161 a ruler H5057, who is anointed H4899 for Jerusalem H3389; there shall be weeks H7620:

Here we are giving the two starting points, of the two sets of 70 weeks. The first 70 starts from the building in 459 bc, and the second from the restoration of the wall, 1541.bc.
“of the command going forth from the ruler, anointed” is Cyrus whom God calls His anointed (Isa.45.1); and also applies to Suleman.

Seventy H7651 (cp. Gen.4.24), seven H7620 (cp.Ez.45.21), then they shall build H1129;

Seventy Seven years from the decree of Cyrus 536 B.C., ends at 459 B.C., and is when the building of the city began.

The “sealing up” of the vision corresponds with the “ the this prophecy” that will be made understood and known, cp. Dan. 12.9-10; and
Should be read in verse 25;

And it shall be returned at H7725 the second H8147 (H8147 is rendered “second “ in Dan.2.1), sixty H8346; and anguished H6695, and diligence H2742 will be in their streets H7339 in those times H6296.

From the completion of Suleiman’s building of the wall, in 1541 A.D (+ 490 = 2031 A.D); unto “the second 60th week”, is 1961-68; and is when Jerusalem, the old city; the original Jerusalem, referred today as “east” Jerusalem; was returned under Jewish control, after the 6 day war 1967, giving confirmation that Suleiman’s restoration, is the starting point, and what is meant by the meaning of a divide between the building starting point, and the restoration as a starting point.

Dan. 9.26: Two H8147 and sixty H8346 weeks H7620 after H310; none לוֹ ( not numbered in the Heb.), but not being for H369 Messiah H4899, will be cut off H3722 (Acts.3.23).
Here the 62 weeks, after the restoration of the sanctuary is implying the arrival of the Messiah.

For there will be corruption/ destruction H7843 for the holy H6924 city H5892 (the destruction of the Roman siege, Lk.21.20-24; A.D., 69-70 A.D.). (And a double application to the Dome of the rock, which says “God has no Son”.

And shall come H935 of the ruler H5057 the people H5971 with a flood H7858;

(i.e., Oct.7, 2023; Al-Aqsa “Flood” fullfilment, or first aspect of fullfilment; the Hamas-led attack; “the people” of Saladin, i.e., the ottoman kingdom, i.e., Islamic jihad).

(Seen on stellarium, on Oct.7th, astroid named “child” comes out of Virgo, possible partial, or full fulfillment of Rev.12.1-13; cp. Isa.26.17-21).

Like Ezekiel 36, I believe chapter 37 is speaking about the same central theme: the restoration of the people of Israel, including their physical return to the land and their spiritual renewal, with both chapters emphasizing God's promise to bring new life to his people after a period of exile and devastation.

While Ezekiel 36 emphasizes God's cleansing and renewal of the land, Ezekiel 37 focuses more on the imagery of the valley of dry bones, representing the miraculous restoration of the nation as a whole.

The nation was reconstituted in 1948. After the Son of Man returns as King, a full regathering of the Israelites and their spiritual regeneration will occur as they mourn like no other time previously.

So many great examples of prophecy as pattern. Something interesting about Ezekiel 37 as primarily depicting the literal resurrection is that it makes Ezekiel chronological from chapter 37 onward (maybe 36 onward). Resurrection in 37, almost concurrent with the final Day of the Lord battle in 38-39, followed by descriptions of the Millennium in 40 to the end.

Thank you for teaching us so hermeneutics. I think you are a unique biblical teacher that teaches us to interpret the prophecies in a coherent unified manner that takes into considering consideration all the biblical data. I believe this is the proper way to interpret the prophecies.
