On the topic of war being kinda messed up, if this podcast has ignited an interest in learning first hand accounts of service in Vietnam, I’d recommend starting with “The Things They Carried”, a collection of short stories by Tim O’Brien, a Vietnam veteran. I had to read a passage of it called “How to Tell a True War Story” and it really affected how I listen to war stories. I still enjoy hearing war stories, but like Colin Quinn keeps repeating in this video: “I have mixed feelings” about war stories now.
