Ответитьas Lee say be Wahter my Frend :D
ОтветитьNice, I picked up a wooden dummy and have no regrets. Dabbled with Wing Chun for a while and thought🤔, "I need one of those". Great tool for practice, and as Jesse experienced, you can find uses for it training in many martial arts. It even can move you into a "meditative state"/rythem/calmness while training, having many benefits, more then meets the eye. Training Choy li fut for a while now; and well you guessed it, wondering do i need version 2 Mook Jong?? (ie;movable central arm?). Best of luck, -Cheers
ОтветитьI did wing chun for 7 years no belts none of that bs iam 5 foot 2 on a good day wing chun is BS sorry guys it’s BS. And trap someone arms ehh maby with a knife and then use another knife to kill the attacker it did grow out of a time of war by revolutionaries. It’s just a knife fighting system hand to hand combat system nah bs. So is the story of how wing chun became wing chun. Now if I was told right from the start this only really works with 2 knifes then I would say it’s a great system. I figured that out on my own after a month but was like whatever I got nothing better to do and it did offer some level of situational awareness You can’t be 6 foot and say how great wing chun is if your 6 foot you can get any martial art to work. I understand the relaxed body mechanics ect. I get the whole movement of force and absorbing force and redirecting it. Great but that works with average sized men. I can do the one inch punch break an inch board with my fingers blah blah blah. It means nothing for me in a real life fight against someone larger than me which is mostly everyone. So these martial arts systems like systema wing chun kali ect are bs martial arts for a guy my size unless I have a weapon and iam good with that weapon. If your 6 foot sorry but you can get just about any martial art system to work. A guy like me a wakazashi a gun a knife lol that’s it. Sorry but it’s the hard truth. You only need Si Lum Tao little idea form after that better off doing boxing western wrestling. The wooden man is great if you understand it’s just a knife fighting system it only works hand to hand if your a large or average size guy. It’s a women’s fighting system women are smaller a need a weapon it’s a knife fighting system. So unless your walking around with knifes and most people aren’t then good luck and it’s based of fighting a larger stronger opponent that does not have knifes lol.
Ответить7 sections to Chinese wood dummy! Bruce Lee couldn't complete the 7th section of Wing Chun! Yet made Jeet Kun Do (Way of Intercepting Fist)!
ОтветитьMr.Jet Li spoke about this in an interview , I remember one thing of it , it is all basically the same as we all have two arms and two legs . True. And I say it all depends how much you put into it and even then it is not a guarantee , anyone can be defeated at any given time , fact.
ОтветитьTo quote the famous master Chong Li...very good, but wooden dummy not hit back.
ОтветитьNice 👍
ОтветитьJust what I learned from my Sifu about training on the wooden dummy: Even if hardening occurs quite often when training on the wooden dummy, it is still a sign of (actually) incorrect execution. If the movements are carried out correctly, the small range of motion of the movable dummy arms and/or the dummy should be sufficient to avoid "injuries".
ОтветитьThe wooden dummy in short is the equivalent of a boxers heavy bag in a sense. The beauty of the wall mounted dummy/live dummy is that it gives you feed back, especially when you stick to it and issue energetics. It's sometimes referred as your 2nd sifu. The springiness of the wall dummy gives you the feeling of bridging with an opponent who has great structure and springiness.
The bridging of the gap isn't just external between person A and person B like a lot of people think. It's also internal, the bridging of oneself between the upper triangle and lover triangle via the pelvic girdle. It's teaching us how to manoeuvre around an object efficiently with the footwork, and also how to affect the dummys centre with total body power. The way the dummy has been designed helps the practitioner to correct his geometry so he understands the points of power from the other open hand forms. It's a really thought out piece of kit 🙏 it kept me on the straight and narrow through the covid lockdowns 🙂
wing chun is not south east asian martial art
ОтветитьTheres a guy by the name of Phillip Hernandez in San Antonio Tx that custom builds these.
Ответитьsensei doesnt look strong from the front but you see his strength in his back and shoulders...really hes no beefy guy but you can tell hes put in some work
Ответитьthis French guy will be remembered for preserving this beautiful art
ОтветитьThat’s Practice tool!
ОтветитьSifu Didier Beddar is super high level that's hard to imagine a rare talent, happy for you you met him. And congratulations you follow and copied the techniques so well at the wooden dummy, impressive !
ОтветитьInteresting that for the one inch punch you use the lower two knuckles to make contact, however, it makes perfect sense?
With your arm fully extended the first two knuckles are ABOVE the line of force applied in a straight line. That then applies an external force back, equal to the force applied forwards. It's Newton's Third law of thermodynamics in practicality. If your wrist isn't strengthened for impact it could affect you detrimentally in combat.
So Karate came out of Okinawa? I guess that explains Karate Kid II.
Ответить“The Wooden Dummy is not what you think… it actually has a PHD.”
ОтветитьDidier máster of máster ❤👌💯🙏
Ответить"tradition is not about preserving the ashes, but rather keeping the flame burning". snyggt! <3
ОтветитьThe simplicity of wang chun proves its divinity. It was developed by a woman who was undoubtedly under weight and lacking in mass, but it makes up for it woth exquisite beauty in its simplicity and potency of power in a simple format. Such a beautiful and deadly art.
ОтветитьI fight almost as well as a wooden dummy.
ОтветитьThat was pretty cool I still would love to see you do something with Master Wong he does different things Tai chi Wing Chun stuff like that and he's open to other methods as well
ОтветитьIt’s a goniometer a protractor. It serves to study methodically distances and angles.
Ответить"I learned a lot, and I hurt a lot" probably sums up almost every Jesse video I've seen 😂
ОтветитьContinuous development with an individual approach through proven techniques, is the best way forward
ОтветитьWonder how many years Vince secretly carried UFC. UGH!! Disillusioned to the max now!
Ответить"Tradition is not about perserving the ashes, it's about keeping the flame burning".
I really, really like that expression. 🤔90%🤔
Your a dummy. It doesn't matter how much you train. You are only any any good if you walk away from the aggressor. No one has forearms of steel. What you have is the low kick to the shin, then the run away.
ОтветитьDamn sure don't wanna kick that dude.
ОтветитьI think I'm the only one who got beet by a wooden dummy
ОтветитьIt is interesting how you start to recognize forms in other arts the more you practice.
I've been noticing it myself, just from practicing Taichi
Salute
ОтветитьI'd love to meet this guy. Me and my dad loved watching the ip man movies, and my dad in particular has a fascination with martial arts, though he doesn't actually do it. I have no interest in learning it, but I'd love to get to know him as a person.
ОтветитьActually Yip Man never taught Bruce Lee, it was Man's top students who taught Lee.
ОтветитьThe Wooden Dummy Is not what I Think.
ОтветитьWell done and well said!
ОтветитьIf you hate your neighbours, buy a wooden dummy.
ОтветитьAll martial arts have one thing in common. A human body. And a very nice "rule to rule them all" - effectivness. If it's effective, it will be used, in one form or another. The most difficult thing is to gather all that effective things together 😉
ОтветитьI found a strange use for the Wing Chun I learned, playing offensive line in football.
The ability to get an opponent's hands off you and strike at the chest plate was an application I had never considered - the muscle memory knew though!
I miss them all very much cause they truly treated me as one ☝️ f their own or like I was family to them?!
ОтветитьI have never trained with American martial arts instructs except once the rest we’re all decent students of Ip chun cause I used to live in China! They said that they wouldn’t teach any other American besides me!’ Cause I was one of the first Americans who addressed them in their native tongue from what they said and that I showed even more respect and view about honor than any other American that they had ever met before! And they asked me how do I know so much about their Chinese or eastern philosophies?’ So I told them that I learn from a book that was about Ip Man himself!❤

ОтветитьI’ve known about wing chun and the wooden dummy since 1985 when I was only 8 years old!’ Because most guys of my friends were Chinese or Asian and because I never really have had any decent American friends except one but not until I was 11!!’ But he died of CHF when he was 18 in 1997!
ОтветитьIt also teaches you to use full body power not just flashy hand techniques or arm conditioning
ОтветитьSo lame, do any professional fighters use techniques from a wooden dummy?
The way he moves fast to practice with another person is stupid. If the person he's demonstrating on moved fast too he'd get hurt.
Total Bullshitsu
Great Jesse! You are an extremely intelligent and sensitive person, without arrogance and above all pride: you have understood the true origin of karate and that it comes from the Chinese styles of the South, such as Winchung!
Congratulations! Well done
Grande Jesse! Sei una persona estremamente intelligenza e sensibile, priva di arroganza e soprattutto superbia: hai compreso la vera origine del karate e che proviene dagli stili cinesi del Sud, come ad esempio il Winchung !
Complimenti ! Bravo
I just wish I could afford one of these.Never been able to afford a wooden dummy
