ОтветитьHi I have been watching all your videos. Very knowledgeable wise man. Well done
ОтветитьHi mate I just join your videos very good explanation to what you doing well done!
Can you please help me out with the questions for the portfolio please or where can I find them kind regards stay safe
Thanks for your efforts and learning a lot from your great video, wish you all the best
ОтветитьFunny thing. I thought this was about a new motorway bypass. Silly me. Great vids :)
ОтветитьHi Adrian, your input in trying to help people learn is admirable.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know if there is conduit on the AM2 I'm planning on doing this soon however I've not touched any conduit in ages.
ОтветитьI wire my 2 way and intermediate lighting different, I dont bring a neutral to every switch, I'm just wondering in the way you have shown is that a link from Com to L1 in the switch and Com to L2 in the last switch thanks
ОтветитьI’ve already done my Am2 , but I found your conduit tips useful, taught me a few things which I did but didn’t really know why, monkey see monkey do act, but now there’s clarity 😂
Would love if you do more conduit videos on 25mm but physically show the procedure if possible.
Thanks for sharing in general , really helps those who still need to do their Am2 and need tips to help them pass.
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
A honest sparky right here
ОтветитьThis was brilliant!!!!!
ОтветитьI guess with the metal conduit, whether you do the 90 degree bend first or the double set, really depends on how long you need the other side of the 90 to be. Else when bending the conduit, it might hit the floor before you can get it to 90 degrees 🤔
Also with regards to cuts and marks on the former to determine the back of bend, I've never had a problem with achieving the exact measurement this way, however it only works when you place the conduit in the opposite way to how you do with the engineer square i.e. the measured end is the one being bent. That being said I only ever work with 25mm conduit, so couldn't be certain that the same is true for 20mm 🤷♂️
But for sure, my preference is doing the 90 first.
Great video Adrian
ОтветитьThis is a great video I'm quit new to metal conduit not much call for it when house bashing would you be able to do a practical video on metal conduit as you explain it better thanks keep the vids coming
ОтветитьThanks Adrian you are doing very important education for free well done
ОтветитьCan you check out your intermediate wiring as it doesn't look correct to me. on the new type of intermediates the L1 are on the top and the L2 at the bottom. I would wire the L1 & L2 from the switch on the power side to the top L1 & L1 respectively and then wire on the lamp side L1 & L2 to the bottom L2 & L2 respectively depending on if you wanted all the the switches to be in the off or on position.
I'm afraid if I followed wiring diagram that wouldn't work.
Hi Adrian, I watched your vid on being qualified or not - and putting your hand above the parapet - how’s that going ?
I am in the beginning of a course and am becoming slightly concerned … is there a contact number to have a quick chat? Cheers! Michael
Felt like I could do bends before I watched this now i feel like i dont have a clue 😂
ОтветитьHi… I’ve been looking for the video you mentioned on how to put a bubble set and 90 into plastic conduit. I have my AM2 next week so any help would be appreciated?
ОтветитьAh, brits. One can rely on you guys to turn a 12 week course into years of legislation and bullshit
ОтветитьDear Adrien I want to make a 3/4 size pipe bender using pulley roller, here need two pulley to complete that, would you tell me what are sizes pulley need to make that bender please?
ОтветитьI just recently passed my am2s assessment and want to say thanks. Your videos were very helpful in my preparation.
ОтветитьPassed me AM2S a few week ago, videos are a massive help👍🏻
ОтветитьYou also get a wiring diagram for each part of the assessment an overall one for the install then one for each individual section like the DOL starter and such its really helpful i did mine last week and got distinction it was a very intense experience and you have to be on the ball but your videos helped me a lot, i do agree the analogy you use though if your trying to get through the Am2s just watching videos your going to struggle you need to be competent as the time for each section is just enough time you cant really make any mistakes or you haven’t the time to finish although the assessor is really friendly and atmosphere is relaxed theres no pressure from the centre just get through it quick and correct following spec and diagrams and you be fine.
ОтветитьI did my AM2 in 1994, and still enjoyed watching this very informative video 👍
ОтветитьHi mate can you show a demonstration of the conduit bending?
ОтветитьHi Adrien,
Amazing that you have taken the time to present this so thoroughly.
Thankyou for taking the time and hopefully will help in my assessment.
As a sparky being in the trade for 35 yrs now having to do this to gain accreditation, this is very daunting, like if I had to take my driving test again, I'll have to unlearn some bad habits lol.
Thanks again, and looking forward to digesting your content.
Fantastic video so much information, thank you.
ОтветитьHi Adrian, great videos and thank you for making them, a huge help.
ОтветитьWhen it comes to selecting protective devices, I believe you're given the cable size and type and you are supposed to select and fit the correct breaker based on cable size? I dont believe the spec tells you which breaker to fit???
ОтветитьSounds like these are pretty silly and basic mistakes to make taking in account 4 years of apprenticeship or at least 3 years of training.
ОтветитьRecently done my Am2s and failed certain parts one been the SWA. Now this sort of stuff is my bread and butter and I failed, do you have to identify all of the cores L1 L2 and L3 with brown sleeve? Also the grey in blue for the N?
ОтветитьThanks for all the excellent info.
One point I would like to clarify. When data cables crosses over Low voltage AC cable in trunking, I've always found it a bit tricky with restricted space. When you mention a "Bridge", is this simply a piece of conduit or similar material, to give added insulation which is rated for "Low voltage" and ensures there is no risk of dangerous voltages appearing on the data cables. I've always assumed that inducted interference cannot be avoided at crossover points, but as the area is so tiny it's not a real problem.
Thanks Adrian, Brent.
ОтветитьI don't get why you have to use the supplied tools? Surely you get used to using your own tools and that will add additional stress if you are suddenly presented with tooling that has been ragged by other students in the past!
ОтветитьIs the AM2 assessment just wiring I’ve been told all containment has been done for you
ОтветитьAs someone who did the 2365 route before the NVQ, and as such have to do the AM2 don’t I get to play with any conduit? I know I got tested in conduit at L2 but I like playing with conduit plus the L2 conduit with the running coupler is an easier than what you are showing, it just seems silly that there is a difference.
ОтветитьIs thay lighting diagram correct?
ОтветитьAs a recently retired JIB GOLD CARD APPROVED INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN of 50 years i spent most of my working life being inspected by a electrical clerk of work who was paid by the client to make sure that the spec was carried out to that spec and if not made to put any errors right, so sadly my opinion of the modern sparks is that they are sloppy and lazy because for years now there are no longer clerks of works on sites and on big sites the electrical contractornis allowed to snag their own work so thats why the industry has gone down hill for years and with clients companies have attemoted to deskill the industry for years allowing unskilled people into the industry, even union officials telling us that cotainment is boring and a manual task that can be carried iut by unskilled workers that are suppervised , which is total bs ive worked on huge sites were the containment is the most difficult part of the contract , so im glad that im out of it now, i feel i worked in the best decades of our industry
