I'd like to see this guy must watch Spy Kids 2 personal opinion of shity movie it could have been worse that's all I'm saying
ОтветитьFor the sake of saying something nice I think the costume and set design was good.
ОтветитьThis video drew my attention to how much narration katara gives. I hear the reason for the whitewashing was a producer demanding his daughter (katara’s actress) get the role and logical extension from that. This makes me feel like she had a line quota.
ОтветитьWhoa. Puppets. Forgot that part. Nice.
Ответитьgod you're so negative....you kinda have the right to be
ОтветитьDammit the WoW monk got me soo bad.
ОтветитьThe Last Airbender seemed like M Night Shyamalan was asked by his agent "what do you think of this project? It pays BANK."
So M Night got interested and decided to take a look at the show and locked himself in his office so he could put all of his concentration into learning more about the show. So he pressed play and started watching it from Episode 1 onward but right around the 5th minute of the first show M Night farted and he smelled it and thought "God, that smells brilliant". Then when the smell left he really wanted more so he pushed another fart out and just smiled as he took it into his nostrils.
M Night began to think to himself, "these things that come from my body are genius just like everything that comes out of me is genius." His farts had become the dragon and his office became a de facto opium den of bodily smells. After each progressive fart M Night would begin to talk into his trusty tape recorder where he would wax poetic how he was feeling after perusing these awesome smells that came from his ass.
And this went on for 500 straight minutes, M Night totally lost track of the Avatar show or even the movie and even the amount of money he would make from said movie. He was an opium addict by this point and that opiate was his own farts.
The next day he met with the studioheads. They wanted to know what he felt about the movie. M Night just took out his tape recorder and said "gentlemen, what I have here is a work of unadulterated genius. THIS is my masterpiece."
The studio heads l, believing that the tape M Night had shown them contained his notes on how to make Avatar the Last Airbender a blockbuster work of art. A film that not only fans would love but non-fans as well. Their pupils turned into dollar signs and they signed him on the spot.
That tape, the one which was M Night farting and saying "oh yeah, that's good." ended up being the heart of his script. Tbe rest is history.
Yo! That robot's chair is staring at you.
ОтветитьYou forgot ‘production designer’ in your list of department heads with some degree of influence over the creative. Not that they could be to blame for this one, but it’s relevant to mention.
ОтветитьAw I thought this was gonna be about the show. Still, happy to see yet another takedown of this disasterpiece
Ответитьwhat if Shy-amalan actually loved it, and ruined every individual part (Dragonball comes to mind) just so people talk about ths original
Ответитьcoming here from the NFT video, possibly the most influential Internet video I've ever seen, and seeing Foldy is a bit of a culture shock
ОтветитьI have theory about the name thing. In a better movie, one with tighter editing and a faster pace, the idea that Katara kinda did just go with this kid because he seemed to need help and helping people is an innate part of her character would make sense. If there was no breathing room for her to find out anything about him. She has a very short conversation with him where he unintentionally dodges her questions and is the interupted by an invasion of the people who killed her mother. On paper, I could see that working. The problem is it's so incompetently done that everything drags so it makes no sense that she doesn't have time. It's also hurt by the added narration implying they had some conversation on appa
ОтветитьI was absolutely gutted when this film was released. I was such a huge fan of the animated series and this was just such a huge let down.
ОтветитьThe most frustrating thing about the movie is that it poisoned the brand. People already familiar with the show felt disrespected and regular movie goers walked away with the assumption that if a live action adaptation was bad, the children's cartoon would be worse.
ОтветитьIf I’m gay, and this movie made me feel severely victimised, does that mean I can classify it as a hate crime?
ОтветитьThis movie is what got me even more into movie production-
Because I wanted to thoroughly tear it apart
It's cool to see how Dan's style has changed over 7 years
ОтветитьI feel like I can hear a cat purring at some points in this video
ОтветитьMy current theory on why this film is like this is that M.Night had a prolonged psychotic break that lasted the entire production
Ответитьi never watched the tv show as a kid, so my first experience with ATLA -- aside from the memes -- was this movie (i know, i know). and i gotta say, even without the atrocious destruction of the lore, it's just... bad. boring. annoying. the acting was painful. it wasn't even bad in a fun way. and then when i finally watched the show -- which REALLY holds up, even as an adult who has no nostalgia for it -- it felt even worse. woof.
ОтветитьI never had any interest in the Planet of the Apes movies until I watched almost the entirety of Rise of the Planet of the Apes on a airplane, with no sound, just over someone's shoulder. It was almost entirely understandable without sound, and it hooked me. War is the superior movie (and a great movie all around), but I'll always love Rise for its visual communication
ОтветитьThe collage of bad dialogue took years of my life span.
ОтветитьWhy a puppet?
ОтветитьI was 29 when this first aired☹
ОтветитьI found the title of this video confusing, because Avatar The Last Airbender has a Season 3 Episode 3 (The Painted Lady), but this video is about some other thing I'm not as interested in.
ОтветитьLet's not forget that in the source material, Katara and Sokka are definitely characters of color, and Zuko is drawn stark white in the early seasons where he's the main villain, but in the movie, he's brown while the heroes have been bleached... it was just a really sad, typical cherry to put on top of a spectacular shit cake.
ОтветитьWhy isn't there a like count?
ОтветитьThe Last Airbender would've been better as a stage play filmed for a theatrical audience wherein during the credits they replay the old skit about them watching a production of past events
ОтветитьHaving mostly watched this channel one bit at a time and in no particular order, I'm somewhat baffled by this strange, talking, paper robot before me.
But it's making a lot of good points while speaking with a soothing, familiar voice so I guess I'm here for it!
That orange guy behind the robot looks kinda mad
ОтветитьI am glad someone else finds M.K.S.’s work is actually poor instead of nuanced.
ОтветитьI can't believe this movie script wasn't written by AI
ОтветитьWhy are the likes disabled Dan?
ОтветитьFor the first time I know why the channel icon looks like that
ОтветитьStill love the classic videos
ОтветитьI'm glad we see your face now!
ОтветитьAnd now we finally have another adaptation so we can argue about which one is worse!
Ответить"Are you an air bender, boy?"
*starts bending air*
"How is he doing that?!"
Incredible
Yes. But no one is arguing it’s anything other than awful. And everyone instantly sees what’s wrong. Such a weird thing to bother analyzing. It’s like someone explaining why breaking a bone or having a heart attack is a bad thing as though anyone doesn’t know that and why
ОтветитьWhose here after the Netflix series?
ОтветитьThat close up is so weird because like.....ots not close enough to feel like an extreme close up (eyes and mouth) but isn't far enough to just be a close up (head and neck) so it feels like a mistake
ОтветитьThe video redo sounds like it's at least worth a shot.
ОтветитьThis film and Dragonball Evolution are brothers in vibe. A filmmaker with little to no knowledge or respect for the source material makes a movie that tries to capitalize on a popular tv show. Wanting to stamp their own identity on their work, they take lots of creative liberties that conflict with what made the original good and enjoyable and thus failing to please the fans who by all rights should be their primary target audience. In an effort to please the fans they try to include a lot of frivolous details and references that make the movie at best confusing and at worst incomprehensible to a new audience.
What you end up with is a nonsensical movie that nobody can enjoy. The painful writing and editing is just the tip of the iceberg here.
Why the framing on par with the Disney Channel Original Movie, Halloweentown? So terrible. I hate this move to my core.
Ответить"Is there a spiritual place I can meditate?"
"There is a very spiritual place. This city was built around this place."
That so feels like placeholder dialogue; it's so clunky and repetitive it's perfect for making you recoil in shame when you re-read it so you know you have to replace it.
