ОтветитьThe dishware thing is similar to how I feel about a set from my grandma's house that we just finished clearing out for sale (she's not dead, just in the dementia ward at a nearby nursing home because her partner who was looking after her got too sick to stay at home, and she's too sick to not have someone living with her and making sure she doesn't get lost in the suburb she's lived in since the '60s again).
Like, my grandfather (died three years before I was born, and soon enough before my parents got married that they couldn't reachedule) bought those. His father (lived with my mum's family until he died when she was like five, also owned the actual sword currently on my mantelpiece) bought some of them on an outing with him. My grandma can't consistently remember it, but she hated them and wanted to suggest buying different ones but then they bought more before she brought it up.
Like, no one involved in that story remembers it. But my aunt does, and she's told it to me, and the plates are still there, and when I was a kid they were what I was eating off when I discovered I did not like Frankfurt sausages, or ketchup, or mashed potatoes, or the way my grandma did broccoli when she still cooked ever.
Thank you for saving that sweet for baby
I can't have kids all I'll ever have is animals but I don't seek animals out I only get ones I stumble upon that need saving
I'm actually down one cat because I lost my sweet senior girl last January to a brain tumor
She had been abandoned by a family twice two different families abandoned her because she had eye cancer
She was left in my grandma's porch my grandma wanted to have her put down because of the cancer I refused I took her in even though I was living in a tent at the time we lived in that tent for 4 years moved into a house and she got two good years in the house before the brain tumor got too bad
It’s said you can see aura’s through stones with holes like that!!

ОтветитьMy big secret for having such cool art pieces while thrifting is to look for professionally framed items. If someone paid through the nose for a custom frame, it’s almost always great. There’s also a style of handmade wooden frames I see that come from Mexico. They have an almost goth/gothic feel to them and have good texture and depth…they almost always have originals in them. Once you see one like that, you’ll start seeing them from a far and be able to make a beeline!
