I adore owls, and birds in general. But I cannot bear seeing them trapped and being used as a product. They are NOT supposed to be there, tied to a pole. No matter how much commodity you give them, it's not their place, and it's animal abuse.
Birds have a natural schedule and it's quite funny because they are like solar powered. So you can imagine the stress these guys go under, without anyone noticing, because they are under a light more time than they are supposed to, or having their natural schedule modified because people wanna pet them and take pics with them.
Again, yes, they are adorable. And yes, they can also be properly taken care of... But that's extremely rare, and it usually doesn't happen. Any of those owl cafés already aren't allowing them to live properly as they deserve. They've never known what freedom is, and birds are all about freedom. Being able to fly, hunt, mate, explore, being curious, and discover their environment.

People need to learn how to respect animals, as not all of them are pets you can just put in a cage and call it a day... They don't have a voice, and they can't tell you their needs. It's up to every one of us to properly learn and understand what is OK and what's not.

And just in case: I'm no vegan or anything like that, I just love animals and do my best to listen to them, understanding their needs and doing my best to respect them as individuals, not as decorative props.

Spread this. Make people aware. Cute animals will always be cute, but there's so much more to "I want X pet". Each one requires different care, needs, space, environment. If you truly care and love animals, then do your research, see for yourself what is going on, and don't support this market, no matter how cute and lovely looks from the outside. It's still animal abuse, it's cruel, and they are not there on own will (I'd rather not go into much detail but it's not pretty how they buy/adquire most of these animals...)
