I came late to ZZ Top: Eliminator, Afterburner and Recycler. Heard "La Grange" on the radio for the first time while in college. I thought it sounded like ZZ Top. So I called that station and the DJ confirmed it. He told me, "Their old stuff kicks the hell out of their new stuff." He was certainly correct.

I find it strange that after the Tres Amigos tour Dusty Hill went and got a job at the Airport as a Baggage Handler. He said he like it that nobody knew who he was but he didn't want to forget where he came from.

Went to a concert way back in the day when ZZ Top was the opening act for Ian Hunter and Mick Ronson who were attempting to form their own band. The stage was bare bones equipped but they still put on a hell of a show!
