I don’t know rugby at all but I don’t understand why with no time on the clock and a slim lead, Australia doesn’t drop a couple defenders back at the start of the play. Sort of like a free and strong safety in US football. I’m looking for someone with a better understanding to clarify.

I (American) started getting into women's rugby about 2 months before the Olympics because of some videos I had seen of Portia Woodman-Wickliffe, so I started diving into past games. Then to see the US Women's team win so soon after in such an historic game is just a crazy coincidence.,

Moments like this can really change the trajectory of a sport in America. I wouldn’t be surprised if rugby started growing exponentially across the country. It’s why Women’s Basketball needed Caitlin Clark there. Team USA is dominating and they are barely getting any coverage. So many more people around the world would be tuning in for Caitlin and discovering Stewie, Aja, Sabrina, etc…
