This is basis rules. Every body in Europe. That is a rond the highshool. And €3000,-
ОтветитьStay calm, most people are not suicidal.
I drive my car around here in europa and just focus on where i'm going and the few cars directly around me.
Also I love having manual gears.
It's very practical once you get used to it.
I go whit you. To wachts the cars.
For myself it's clear. Richt has the way. In a city.
er staan 2 auto's geparkeerd in de bocht. Dus moeten de andere auto's over de trambaan.
ОтветитьWe’ve been to Italy and France many times to visit family and we rent a car most of the time. Driving there is great outside of big cities and I found Rome congestion nuts but most drivers trust and have respect for each other with their driving abilities.
ОтветитьHello from Australia. Italy and India believe in life after death so nothing to lose in this life. Pray for forgiveness in Italy but how does karma work in India?
ОтветитьIn Greece if there is no police around it's literaly free for all. I don't know if there are any good videos but driving in Greece is for sure chaotic .
ОтветитьIn italy a red light is an order in Milan, a request in Rome and a mere suggestion in Naples!
Ответитьi am finnish guy,but i used to drive truck to italy weekly almost 10 years..i must say italy traffic is something else, luckily they usually understood that biggest camel goes first at semi questionably situations..which happened alot..loved italy from my heart, still do 😙..greetings from finland
ОтветитьBefore traffic lights mounted police with the white gloves would do a shift of 5 hours in peak times. I heard a retired officer say his horse would sleep until 5 minutes before the end of the shift when he could cross over to the park and gallop some of the way back to the stables. For those in Australia the intersection was Anzac Parade and Cleveland St Moore Park. Stables in Baptist Lane Redfern.
ОтветитьWhy not to much big accidents?
Because we do not do the 10,38 intention.
We slow down.
hey! thanks for your cool videos, Ian! I've seen you "drooling" with Renaults and Peugeots more and more and i wondered if you ever watched the 1995 Renault Espace F1, when Renault had the wonderful idea of sticking an F1 engine in a people carrier... if so, could anyone tel me which episode it's in? if not, here's a good idea for a reaction, imo! cheers from Portugal
ОтветитьSo we now know your guilty Little pleasure/secret. Traffic intersections are doing it for you. It is kinda hypnotic to watch traffic intersections. My guilty Little pleasure/secret is watching SB mowing - Overgrown yard clean up & mowing yards for free. to help the residents & community. I absolutely hate mowing, but love to see Spencer (SB Mowing), before & after videos.
ОтветитьBrings back memories of my campervanning trip to Europe in 1977. We were heading for a camp ground on the outskirts of Rome but took a wrong turn and ended up in traffic like this. To add to the fun our campervan was based on a Ford Transit chassis and was from England so we were also right-hand drive and with manual transmission. At least we were perched a lot higher than the sea of Fiat Bambinos and mopeds surrounding us, and made it through without a scratch. A far cry from the streets of my quiet suburban Sydney home.
ОтветитьNaples is the PhD of driving. Once you get comfortable driving here you can drive anywhere both safely and very quickly.
ОтветитьThey should show this clip in India proving you can have chaos with out honking 365 times a minute.
Ответитьin an old Lonely Planet guide on traffic in Napoli they stated:"people facing a green light take extra good care, knowing those facing a red light will not stop."
Ответитьi swear i'm personaly from France but road are not narrow in this video, We have many street in countryside or very old town where it's narrow for us and sometimes really steep
Ответитьitaly FIAT country thats all they drie
Ответитьtry to drive in bangkok
ОтветитьYou should check out "parking" videos from France.
ОтветитьActually it is a recognition of the ability of Italian drivers. Gettinga licence in Italy is a very serious business. You do not get a permit at 14 years old. You have a very difficult test to pass and before thatn it is required to have a driving course lasting several months and costing a couple thousand euros. No test is permitted on automatic transmission cars and you are tested for all kinds of situations including those shown here Everybody on the road knows what to do in any situations and the violation code is very very strict. Tickets are very expensive and points are deducted for every moving violation for a maximum of 20 points after which yourlicence is taken away and must take a new test. Te same is true in every european country. In tihs videos it seems that it is a go for all thing actually it is not. Everybody on the road knows exactly what to do and that is the reason why there are fewer accidents tan te US
ОтветитьI'm an ex bus driver (retired) we have an intersection here in Adelaide that has 5 roads converging. Traffic lights work well, but on occasion they have gone down. We have 2 advantages when it comes to navigating something like this. We are high up so we have good visibility, plus our size gives us the opportunity to push your way through. Even if it's chaos.
ОтветитьIts more like 80 or 90% manuals instead of 50% and its mostly the EVs and hybrids that is causing it to go down.
ОтветитьCheck out India 😂😂😂
ОтветитьI had a fascinating drive in a bus in Kairo on a visit to the pyramids and the Egyptian Museum. When entering the city outskirts the traffic felt like a swarm of fish, honking fish 😅. Plus, there were horse carriages mixed into it. But, like in Rome it just worked fine.
(Oh, and when waiting for the bus in the darkness of the early morning hours at a cross section we saw an open truck. It had a camel sitting in its bed 👍🏼😁. A bit like a hallucination)
I’ve also seen a few videos of traffic in Vietnamese and Cambodian cities. Watching these makes you dizzy as well 🎉😂
Funny story: I lived in rural Italy for 4 years (i'm Dutch) and tried to get my drivers licence, but when my instructor made my drive in Florence I just left the car there ☺ didn't get my license till I was back in Holland. Italian drivers are crazy! Italians are the best people in the world though ♥
ОтветитьIn Rome, a lot of cars have littke dents...
ОтветитьFortunately I live in other parts of Italy where traffic is sane. And remember, traffic in Italy is waaay safer than in the US, and in the last decades deaths relates to traffic in Italy are decreasing, while in the US are increasing.
ОтветитьLos italianos son muy simpáticos y muy caóticos 😂😂😂❤
ОтветитьLong live the Latin countries! ✌️ 😎
ОтветитьHmmm...I wanted to go to Italy on vacation next year...but no more! I want to keep my car in one piece. This is insane!! And another thing: the more south you go, the less they care about dents in their cars I guess? If you see someone driving here with big dents or whatever it's automatically assumed that person is a bad driver because we cherish our cars; sometimes a bit to the extreme but ok...
ОтветитьBelgrade "Slavija" roundabout is a total mess with cars, buses, trams etc... Along with a musical fountain in the middle :)
Ответитьpiazza venezia, pronounced perfectly. go italy!! ...check out china they are crazier.
ОтветитьI would love to see you doing a tour of Europe. I think that your perspective about Europe is fascinating. I as an european take many of these things for granted.
ОтветитьCome to Lisbon, Porto, exactly the same 😉
ОтветитьProbably 90% or more of the cars are manual shift.
You should watch Amalfi street and the amazing driving skill of bus driver there
And this is why America sized cars are not sold in Europe to any big numbers as they are impractical
ОтветитьYeah, Rome was scary to drive around. I'd driven down from Holland and through Germany where sense generally prevails. It doesn't help that signs in Rome seem to disappear at critical junctions too!
ОтветитьIt's funny to watch you, i'm italian. They're flowing 😂 don't worry.
Watch India, that's crazy!
Ian, don't worry about the busses, they're bigger than almost anything else on those roads
ОтветитьLets clarify to some people in the comments: Italian drivers respect traffic lights, stop signs and emergency vehicles let's not exaggerate. Deaths by accidents on the road are one of the lowest in the world in line with EU average.
ОтветитьIan , there is a theory about that stuff.
Italians are very into car racing. And they jus follow the words of the most famous F1 driver ever , Arton Senna
" If there is a gap and you don't go for it, you are not a racing driver"
