Or it is just BS ...

This proves only the matter in the universe is moving, not that the whole "space" or "room" where the matter is situated is expanding.

The man who is paid millions to make sure the hapless public believes the universe was created even though every law in physics states it's impossible.

The Big Bang was merely our universe turning itself into a gargantuan particle collider that created quark-electron plasma shrapnel as the expanding galaxies.

It is stupid to believe the universe was created.

The comments here made me wonder whether the redshift / Doppler effect could just mean that galaxies are flying apart through already-existing, infinite space versus indicative of an expanding universe. I put the question into ChatGPT (which is basing its response on the info it’s collected from different sources) and here’s the response. If there are any incorrect pieces of information from it, it would be good to know by providing links to science articles that provide the correction.

Excellent question—and it strikes at the heart of what makes the concept of expanding space so unintuitive.

You're absolutely right to ask: couldn't
Here’s why scientists conclude that space itself is expanding, not just that galaxies are moving through it:

The Redshift Pattern Is Uniform in All Directions
* If galaxies were simply moving through space like debris from an explosion, we’d expect to see some asymmetry—a preferred direction or center of expansion.
* But Hubble’s Law holds true in every direction, with no center: every galaxy sees every other galaxy receding, proportional to distance.
* This is exactly what you’d expect if space itself is stretching, and not just galaxies moving through it.

General Relativity Predicts Expanding Space
* Einstein’s theory of general relativity doesn’t treat space as a static backdrop—it allows space to curve, stretch, and evolve over time.
* Solutions to Einstein’s equations (e.g., the Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker metric) predict an expanding or contracting universe depending on energy density.
* These models naturally explain redshift as the wavelengths of light being stretched by the expansion of space—not by motion through space.

Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) Evidence
* The CMB shows that the early universe was hot, dense, and uniform.
* As the universe expanded, that dense state cooled and thinned, leaving behind the low-energy microwave background.
* This cooling and redshifting of photons is what you'd expect if the fabric of space itself expanded, not if objects just moved away in static space.

No Observable Center
* In a normal explosion in static space, you'd be able to identify the explosion’s center.
* But in the expanding universe, every point in space sees the same expansion. There is no privileged center.
* This symmetry suggests it's space that’s growing, not just motion through space.

Sorry, but we can't observe the expansion of the universe directly because the Zone of Avoidance (ZOA) obscures more than 70% of it from our view.

I totally understand red shift, but I always imagine a person with a telescope observing us back from the galaxy we are viewing; surely we would appear as red shifted also!
I always wonder just "who" is moving away from who!
What I mean is how do I know which galaxy is closer to the big bang? Because anyone on a distant galaxy observing us, would have the same perspective as we do observing them!
Who's moving away from who, and in what direction?????!!!🤯

That explanation might be simplified but it’s effectively bunk.

They are more red because they are closer but still moving away and bluer but farther away…

Luminosity definitely drops in an inverse square manner by distance away but the Doppler effect of light when both sources are alleged to be moving away emitting photons causing those shifts is not the correct interpretation even if simplified.

But acc to current hypothesis universe is not expanding at all and its due toTimescape Cosmology: A Relativistic Perspective This model posits that the universe is not expanding uniformly. Instead, it suggests that gravitational time dilation—where time passes at different rates in regions of varying gravitational potential—can lead to the illusion of acceleration.

This means even scientist don't know whats really right or wrong about universe ...all the years of study and thinking that they know something more than a common man got down the vent😂😂😂...So on a larger time scale we all are equal in all respects even based on intelligence
