This is hands down the best HDTV testing and reporting channel on YT. However, I have to make sure I'm wide awake before I watch. Your voice is so soothing, it relaxes me to the point of dozing off. And I mean this in the best possible way! Cheers and keep up the great work!

I'm not sure if it's still true but the Pioneer Plasma team left to Panasonic. I wonder if they are still there working on stuff like this.

OMG what the hell with black levels... I see it's the same as with qd-oleds and that is why I still prefer traditional oleds and I hope they won't dissaper from tv market in next few years.

It seems that the black level of the screen when hit by ambient light is far worse than the QD OLED of last year (that was one of the two minor issues on qd oled panels) that seems fixed on the 2nd generation of QD OLED panels this year.

For me, the best decision for Panasonic was the adoption of a QD OLED panel 2nd generation in conjunction with the new Pentonic SOC. I suspect Sony is delaying their TV presentation to reach that goal. If so, a big advantage for Sony also for the next years (having more background experience compared to Panasonic). At the end, only the new brighter MLA panel is the change proposed by Panasonic compared to last year while the QD OLED panel was already last year clearly better than WRGB OLED and with more margin of improvement in the next years.

Weren't the TV pictures swapped by error ? The left picture (must be OLED 2022) looks brighter in every scenario.

I wish to see more english spoken videos about one of (if not) the best oled brand outhere. Like, how is gaming on a Panasonic tv compared to LG? How is the last gen model compared to the next gen model (JZ2k vs LZ2k) for example. How many resolutions do Panasonic tv’s support (480p?) all these obscure details are very hard to find

Will OLED ever be able to produce 1000 nits full screen? For those of us who cannot afford a $30k reference monitor but still want to create HDR content that is color accurate, we usually have to choose color accuracy or luminance, but not both. Color is more important, so we can use something like an LG C-series OLED, which is a great option. But when mastering for HDR, the best we can do would be proper reference monitor, or possibly a miniLED for $6k or more, which will still sacrifice some color accuracy.

So the new panasonic with mla looks like a led lcd tv due to the raised blacks making it a useless oled tv. Oled is about that beautiful contrast and blacks. If the g3 from lg with mla also has the saim raised blacks I cam go back to my original mindset of the qd oled version 2 being the only and best option this year after sansung has fixed their raised blacks for 2023. But lg has not. Maby lg also took off the poloriz off too or the lma is reflecting light the worng way when introduced from outside the room.

The biggest thing I would miss in my c9 is the lg magic wii style remote and the current picture settings I have remembered by heart and the clear picture setting. Samsung's remote had no input button and it's just a laggy experience.

There's NO noticable difference in these OLEDS now, I'm glad I bought the Pana 55" Jz1000 it's perfect for movies and games, I won't upgrade now until Panasonic Finally make 8K QD or MLA OLEDs now, I'll let around 7-8 years pass and let Panasonic make afew 8K tvs then go for a massive flagship, As of now I'm Set for a long time

I can only hope the new MLA LG tech gives the QD-OLED a run for its money because that will mean better competition and hopefully better prices for the consumer. Now I'll keep my fingers crossed that Panasonic comes back to North America.

Peak brightness of LG G3 is 600+ more than Panasonic MZ 2000. But how do the picture quality look side-by-side? LG's TV most likely needs calibration, has less hdr options and maybe not as good sound as Panasonic. I would really like to see a comparison between the two of them for sound, movies and gaming.

I realize I'm complaining about a "first-world problem", but I keep wishing that Panasonic would start selling their TVs in the United States again. Value Electronics was able to offer a small number of Panasonic TVs for sale from their store in New York last year, so maybe I'll get lucky someday and purchase one of those rare models. They're almost as scarce as unicorns on this side of the planet.

Is possible to switch off the “luminance control logo”? With my GZ1000 I can only set it to “min” and it produces an annoying dimming effect, to me is totally unusable for gaming. On LG oleds you can switch that control off, I hope finally Panasonic let us do the same, or even better would be if they find a way to dim only the zone where the static logo is displayed and not all the screen.

Am I just imagining it or was the MZ very washed out in terms of black on the shots of Blade Runner? Surely Panasonic haven't messed up HDR black levels in this model?
Edited: having now watched the whole video: I'm extremely disappointed! The raised blacks in ambient light are a HUGE step back in my opinion. Given how contrast works I'll put money on the raised blacks completely negating the increased brightness in any viewing conditions except a completely blacked out room (or at least very dark). According to SMPTE contrast is the 1st primary and most important picture quality metric. For the vast majority of users OLED has just taken a huge step backwards in picture quality. Given just how terrible the side to side is for the Blade Runner clip in terms of contrast and black levels (even allowing for the fact that the room is probably a little brighter than an average living room) I would never purchase a TV with one of these panels. It would be worse than going back to my old Panasonic plasma TV. This is a huge disappointment.

Aren't we reaching a point where you should stop focussing solely on white luminance and start paying attention to color luminance? Everyone says how much better the colors are on Q-OLED... and yet none of the channels I've watched actually MEASURE for it. It's a complete fail (to me at least) if a TV can hit 100% of some color space my eyes can't detect half of and can generate 8 gazillion nits white light, and yet can only produce red at 89 nits...
