Holy shit. Heard this song on the radio around the time it came out and immediately fell in love with it, but I couldn't for the life of me remember the name or artist. Fast forward 4 years where a girl at work I'm crushing on hard is wearing an Avatar shirt. Decided to look them up and check out some of their music (The Eagle Has Landed) and thought "damn, that really sounds like that one song I really like." So I'm lying in bed trying to remember it and suddenly the words "new land" pops into my head. I decided to Google "metal song "new land"" and sure enough, it's Avatar. I'm so glad I found it again.

I seriously adore this clip!)) From retrofuturism with steering wheel and teacups to atmosphere in the colors of Paranoid by Black Sabbath. A combination of stop-motion and animation! Johan Karlen did his best. By the way, there's a cameo of his two cats Vivian and Celeste (window and roof). Johannes and Tim as Kirk and Spock.) And the owl on the wall of the spaceship!))) Also first time ever on screen a flag of Avatar Country!)) Don't believe it when guys say they're not actors - then why am I crying when they were desperate, stuck on a hostile planet? The ending is amazing.))
By the way, shooting took place over two weekends in January. Between those weekends, Avatar took to the seas for four days playing the ShipRocked festival.

First song I heard from them was Bloody Angel and that was around when it came out and I do not regret clicking on that video, I never really listened to new music I always listened to the same crap and I realized if you try to listen to new music you can discover bands that are just as good as AVATAR.

This band blows my mind with how unique they are. I listen to much heavier metal than this normally because it scratches a really specific itch for me but Avatar hits different sometimes in a way that other bands can't.

Even though they made this video to be no realtion in any way, shape, or form, to what the song is actually about, it's still a badas video.

Ive always been alittle rough around the edges and had problems with authority but shit i remember when trump won in 2016 and i felt like america was becoming a new world listening to this. You know how much fun work was looking back? GOT was a hot show and i used to envision myself s a warrior going into a new land to CONQUER! I was WILD! Our president did whatever he wanted and so did i!

Anyone notice that Johannes can do just about any style of metal vocally? He's got the most diverse sound of any vocalist I've heard. He's crazy.
