In my opinion, it is all theatrics designed to force people to choose a side in order to keep us divided and thinking emotionally rather than critically. When society swings over the edge of the cliff on one side, it tends to swing back just as far over the cliff's edge on the other side eventually. There's a moment of desperation for society when they're hanging over either of the edges and that is where evil will take advantage of them. It will be masked as the solution or the necessary correction to bring us back into normalcy or balance as we all fall to the center, finally united for peace. We can finally take a breath and perhaps even relax a bit, but that is the moment the hurricane will strike out of nowhere and wash us off the cliff. There are 2 lifelines available. One will be within easy reach, a jute rope tethered to a helicopter full of men to guide you. The other is slightly out of reach, made of an unknown material tethered to a cloud that says heaven and requires a leap of faith. Most will put their faith in the jute rope even as it begins to fray and the men in the man made helicopter rather than the promises of God. I figure God is in control and all of this is a test of our faith in him. No matter who wins an election, God's will will be done. Do we trust him to catch us? Do we really believe? It is easy to believe when your belief is not tested. It is easy to believe when you think he will whisk you away before things get too bad, but will your belief, your faith remain strong if he doesn't? Christians around the world have had their faith tested in ways that most Americans (and most western countries) can't even imagine, so why so many think they are above having theirs tested, I don't understand. I can't find anywhere in the Bible that gives western Christians an elite status over any others. An election might change the timing or the path we take, but in the end, the destination will be the same when God determines it to be.
