After watching the first film "Curse of the Black Pearl" on Disney+ (Plus), I actually quite like her.

She has courage, she has spirit.

Will: "That one" points to the ship

Jack: gave will a confused look "what one?" looks out at the distance and realization struck "THAT ONE?!" stopped to think for a moment and decided to agree before getting slapped a third time "Aye! that one!"

I think they were trying to set up Anna Maria as Jack’s love interest, and I believe had she returned for Dead Man’s chest, she would’ve been further developed. Unfortunately, Zoe Saldana was mistreated so badly on this movie that her character was dropped after the first film.

My favorite irony is how Ana and Will hook up in a different movie
