why he fall like that
ОтветитьThis scene made nearly made me jump out of my skin.
ОтветитьNorman warned him to get lost, but he didn't listen
ОтветитьScariest part of the movie was when the mother’s body is revealed and Norman appears with an unhinged grin wielding a knife in a wig and dress that delirious smile wanting to kill was terrifying
ОтветитьHitchcock said that the music added about 30-40 per cent of the impact to this scene.
ОтветитьThis movie terrified me more than any black and white movie has. Hitchcock is a true master of suspenseful films. He doesn’t need blood and gore to make his pictures. He lets the imagination of the viewer guide them. Some things are more horrifying to the imagination. I know he is not a horror director but I am going to do the same thing with my horror films. I am going to rely on implication, suspense and shocking scenes to scare the viewers and non of that jump scare crap they have in most horror movies. Jump scares don’t even have the long term effects on a viewer that a shocking scene would cause.
ОтветитьThe cop in Play Misty For Me got it the same way.

ОтветитьIt’s the chaos. The shower scene, you see it coming. You see the door open in the background, the figure walking towards the shower. There is no surprise.
In this scene, it’s pretty calm. A man just looking around. You sort of suspect something will happen. A noise, a sighting, something.
Then the woman comes out of nowhere, and the music blasts. It’s SUDDEN chaos, and that makes it more scary than the shower scene imo.
Well gee. Sure glad I watched that,
ОтветитьBuying A Stairway
ОтветитьThe Mafia Keeps it in the family Too..
ОтветитьThis scene always seemed so unrealistic and therefore not scary to me. A humans natural reaction to a threat is to put their hands up. The actor actively and deliberately leaned back and kept his hands down before getting stabbed.
ОтветитьThe music
Ответитьits so awful that Hitchcocks reputation was so damaged with revelations about his treatment of Tippi Hedren
ОтветитьIf you look very closely and quickly, you can see that Mother is wearing men's shoes. This is a repeat of something Hitchcock did in The Lady Vanishes, in which the "nun" gives herself away be wearing high heels.
ОтветитьOne thing which makes this film work so much better is the fact it was filmed in black and white...this film would not work in colour...shame nobody makes black and white films anymore.
ОтветитьI was a little kid when I watched this movie in the early 90s, and I always felt just as bad for this guy as I did Marion
ОтветитьThis is a 10/10 while the remake is a 1/10
ОтветитьWhere is the version with the 4 arbogast stabs instead of 2??
Ответить"Didn't think I'd cut you off at the stairs did ya?!"
ОтветитьI haven’t seen psycho 2, but that’s the same staircase where a man that looks like arbogast fell off that same staircase, and the knife went into the same place as arbogast
ОтветитьI watched the movie last saturday and I actually didn't know anything about it except the shower scene so I was surprised at how well it holds up until today and this actually jumpscared me 😂
ОтветитьWhen he fell down the stairs i started cackling
ОтветитьYou certainly can't attack home intruders like this in your own house today!
ОтветитьThe first slasher ❤
ОтветитьMurders Of People Does Not Make A Movie ! The Opening Of Sound Of Music, Funny Girl, Singing In The Rain, All About Eve ! What Is The Build Up Of Psycho With The Terrible Scenes ?
ОтветитьThe first time I watched this movie, it was on max volume, dark room, I was alone, I never got jump scared like this before bro.😭
Ответитьpretty cheesy scene
ОтветитьMartin Balsam
ОтветитьSkibidi
ОтветитьAlfred Hitchcock is my 4th favorite movie director (behind Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan and James Cameron)
ОтветитьThe one thing I do hate about this scene is not that the falling down the stairs looks so fake, but when he pulls up the knife after stabbing him the first, there is no blood on the knife. Very bad continuity!
ОтветитьArbogast is a character that seems underdeveloped at first glance, but even he has some depth to him if you watch closely. In the scene preceding this one, he makes a phone call after getting a hot lead. But who does he call right away? Not his boss (the oil guy) as most private investigators would, but rather Marion's sister. Because he knows she's worried sick about Marion. That action shows that he's actually very compassionate, underneath his stereotypical gruff demeanor.
ОтветитьOne of the original curiosity killed the cat metaphors in this film
ОтветитьThis guy is such a good actor. He also played Juror no. 1 in 12 Angry Men.
