In this series I will be working with a maximum of 4 goalkeepers hailing from Gozo island ahead of a new season.

The goalkeepers seen in these clips are Damien Spiteri and Joel Micallef of Munxar Falcons, Kyle Barbara of Victoria Hotspurs and Owen Xuereb of SK Victoria Wanderers.

The aim of these sessions is to offer these goalkeepers an extra session during the pre-season period apart from the one they have with their clubs. All the sessions were held early in the morning and ranged between 45 and 50 minutes.

Each session started with a general warm-up and cool down which are not featured in these clips.

The main objective of this session was to work on endurance through diving.

This session included an activation and 1 exercise:

• In the activation phase GKS exchanged a pass before working on quick rapid movements and saving different shots. GKS worked through a series of sets with short rest time to work on their endurance.

• In the main exercise the GKS worked an endurance circuit which included short runs and side dives. The GKS worked on 2 sets of 8 minutes on each side with a 2-minute rest in between. In the first set the GKS worked on low dives whereas in the second set GKS worked on half-high dives.

Between the two exercises the GKS worked on abdominal exercises with the use of the ball (which are not featured in this clip).
