PS2 MX4SIO SD Card Upgrade Changes Everything !

I heard that the PS1 hardware has access to the memory card slot so it might be possible to get MX4SIO to play PS1 games without POPs that would be so epic all PS2 games on HDD & all PS1 games on MX4SIO instead of VCD format & emulation!

didn't know that you need FMCB especially for MX4SIO...

Burnout appears to lag. I've experienced that with any backup I've tried. The original disc appears to be the best. I haven't tried it over the Lan port yet tho.

Is SanDisk compatible with ps2?

i bought a few mxsio's thinking this would be the best option but its not for me.
its cool though! but its not better than a good ol usb stick.

the downsides for me are that they arent compatible with sandisk memorycards, i only ever buy sandisk lol, and you cant play pops psx games on it! so for me the best option is to have a usb and of course a harddrive with network adapter and to use ulaunchelf to format the drive and hdlbatch to manage it 👌

Too much stuttering hdd is way superior for the past version of the PS2. If you're using this on a phat PS2 you're just wasting your time.

İ made that memorycard handmade. sometimes works fine. sometimes works slowly. Have lag in games. it is normal.* i do not see any lag if i play on usb flash drive. i see some problems if i play with mx4sio with samsung fast microsd card.

This card is way better than that overpriced trash mc2sio by helders game tech junk. 👎 Bitfunx MX4SIO loads games list every time plus games work so fa so 👍

Is there enough bandwidth to read game data thru Memcard slot?

I was super clever and saw a shop selling second hand PS 3 & PS 4 and i ask them whether they have PS 2 memory card and they sold me 1pcs of PS 2 memory card (8MB)(Made in Japan) second hand for just SGD $5 and it did not work then i went back and exchange for another one and it worked. I save a lot of money because a new sony 8mb memory card was selling for very high price like SGD 28 or 38 for Japan and SGD 18 for china. I only bought 1 MC(8mb) Made in Japan for my PS 2 console and 8MB was not enough for all the PS 2 Games and now i have TOTAL 16Mb which is enough.

can you use the sd card adapter with a normal free mcboot memorycard? (my ps2 has a matrix modchip but i still use free mcboot)

I personally prefer the hard drive mostly because you have to format the micro SD to FAT32 and you need a program like USButil to split those larger files to fit on a FAT32 storage. That being said, I have the MC2SIO memory card and have games on a micro SD.

the biggest and critical problem is that you can't save games

ExFat is now supported so you don’t even need the special program. What’s also cool is you don’t have to type in the disc i d either. Just drag and drop no matter what size the game is 😊

This method really helped a lot for my slim, with new opl i can use exfat format to copy dvd9 game and cutscene is play smoothly compared to USB, really grateful to ps2 homebrew community
