That would have been really easy and cheap to do with a bit of plaster cornice and cement.
But hey, the printer was there so why not?
Cheers!

I'm curious to see how the Prusa compares to the Bambu. I've heard that the Bambu is an essential painless printing experience, which would be lovely, but Prusa has the A+ open source badge of approval.

This one made me laugh, but you're absolutely right. The skills you have are in CAD and 3D printing so it makes sense to use those skills to solve the problem, and the result speaks for itself.

Stoked to see more sponsors getting on board. Says a lot about where this channel is heading.

The reason there isn’t a square surface on the back is that it wouldn’t allow for any misalignment or out of square. The reason the trim probably looks inconsistent is that your walls and or ceiling is slightly out of square 😆Common in most places! Love the video

Boyz got skillz with that fusion 360! Now all you need to do is take the sticker off of the IKEA shelf next to the hat and plug those unsightly unused shelf adjustment holes.

I tried to post a comment suggesting an IKEA product to cover the adjustment holes in the shelves but it was memoryholed, I think. Are there any unusual comment restrictions, e.g. dollar signs in the comment, or something kind that?

Your videos are getting better all the time. Need to print a heap of round plugs to fill those shelf holes for an even more seamless install.

This has become my favorite 3D printing channel! It’s one of a handful channels I actually have notifications turned on for. The style and pacing are so good, and the projects are really interesting. Keep it up!

On another note, would you say the CORE One is preferable to a P1S or X1C?

Good job, nice and neat. As others note, houses don't have all the right angles they aspire to, so everything is a bit wonky. Well done on the Prusa, much respect for those guys.

Cutting and coping crown molding is tricky and it is very easy to waste expensive material with cutting mistakes. I think this is a great solution for a small amount area. Also I totally agree about using the tools and skills you already have to implement a solution. Also, material costs are getting crazy, so a roll or two of PLA might be cheaper in the end.

This home appliance is not smart enough. Home assistant is dissatisfied. You could have added some LED strip and ESP32 to fit the smart home topic and also it would justify 3D printing much better :)

You can print small dots to fill the shelf holes. You can find some that are removable and it greatly improves the look of the wardrobe from the distance and are really forgettable when close to them

I’ve used drywall materials plenty in my life so that doesn’t worry me, but I think 3D printing a basic L bracket to attach the cornice to the cabinet would still be a good way to attach it

Love the vid, but honestly, over 2 min of ads in a 10 min vid seems excessive. One's fine, I get you've gotta make a buck, but 2 different ads, covering 25% of a vid really is a lot

Ответить
@darrylsell5995
@darrylsell5995 - 14.06.2025 12:40

I think over time you’re going to have huge issues with the fit being so tight. With temperature and humidity changes, the cabinets, ceiling and plastic will all move and expand in different ways, causing to cracking, damage and twisting to the ceiling and cabinets.

You should possibly talk to a builder about it, as usually the edgings are pretty loosely tacked on to allow for seasonal expansion and contraction without causing damage, and that is very much not the approach you’ve taken.

I've been really enjoying your videos and I always want to support smaller creators, especially a fellow Aussie, getting that sponsor money. But I have to say, this was way too much. From what I could figure out with the run time of this video compared to the sponsored segments, the sponsors took up more than 25% of the whole video. Not even including the unnecessary segways you had leading up to those segments. I understand these ads may be more relevant for some viewers but I clicked the video for your creative and unique troubleshooting of household problems not to watch ads.

I did something similar recently. I needed to replace a section of skirting board in a bathroom that had got damp but I couldn't find the exact same profile of skirting board anywhere so I printed it off rather than having to replace the whole room's skirting board with a new style. It took a little trial and error to match the profile but it's indistinguishable from the original section.

👀I'm sooo glad someone tried this. I love stupidly ornate stuff and when I first saw belt printers, I thought they could print out ornate molding for rooms and would probably cost less if doing a whole house, including buying a belt printer. Not sure about the UK but in the states, that small amount of molding you did probably cost less than doing it properly. Molding, even simple molding, is expensive

I like your other videos, but dunno about this one, mate. The complex curvature of your downpipe made that one worth printing, but this seems rather over-complicated. I certainly wouldn't've had the patience to wait for reprints myself. You might hate plastering, but it's a useful skill for more than just cornice. I would've thought you could learn all you needed to and get it done in less time than what I imagine this took.
