there should not be majors that big and there is minimal brood and workers, ive raised them and the starting majors are never that big and any starting colony ive seen has 50 or more workers its either been brood boosted or removed out of a larger colony

I bought a young colony of this species a few years ago. Only had the queen and 2 workers. I had her for 5 months and she never laid a single egg. Apparently the guy who sold her to me used tweezers to remove her wings and make it look like she’d mated. The two workers were from a different colony, and they stole food and water from her. There’s $200 I’ll never get back.

Ants are super interesting

Question... How can you use active medium, with mites and such in it???, without being sure you're not getting one of the types of mites that drink ants blood and kill ants. All types of mites out there, some mites eat other mites, and some mites are parasitic,.. and Will Kill The Ants. So how can you use active medium?,.. in this case, coconut husk fiber.
Also,.. I would think it will start molding from bottom up.
