SWTOR IS BEING REMASTERED

Saw the vid title & immediately remembered that I haven’t continued my Jedi storyline with 87.5 hours in almost a year now. Looks like it’s time to download SWTOR again lol

Make it single player this is done as an mmo

I would come back if they overhauled the animations, interface, graphics. If lightsaber duels actually felt like a thriving engagement and fluid? I would sign up and resub but I doubt that will be happening. Not to mention dialogue cutscenes everyone uses same hand/body gestures it kills any sense of immersion or personality.

Full console support would be huge! Think about the possibilities and revival of the gaming scene for this particular title. 😮

New content? Why? New Operations? Why? New textures? Oh yeah, sure! Game size increasing on disk? So what, buy a new disk! Performance issues? Huang offers you new fake footage - for the ridiculous price of $2,000. It's a trifle! No, author, I cannot and will not agree with your enthusiasm about the "modernization" of the game.

If we're talking console integration -- there's two ways that can happen :
Joint PC & cosole servers .
Separate PC & console servers .
The former is difficult because of several reasons .
The latter is what Star Trek Online has, and there I've heard a number of console players wishing either to move to PC, or for joint PC & console servers .

I mentioned previously that there are issues with joint servers -- here are two of them :
1- On STO (Star Trek Online) , zhe same game is played at somewhat different speeds because accessing powers and abilities is a lot easier on PC, where you can use key binds, and don't have to access menus during combat, as there are a lot more powers than buttons on a controller .

2- Updates on PC happen sooner on PC because the console updates have to get approved by the respective console companies .
That takes time , so very few events run concurrently, leaving the console players frustrated as they want what gets announced for PC too, and usually they have to wait for a few weeks.

If I'm being perfectly honest, I do hope that SWTOR gets a joint PC & console server .
It would bring fresh blood , and perhaps inspire STO to look into doing a joint server as well... -- something that they denied the possibility of for a few years now .

I just wanna see a Star Wars Galaxies 2 and want to see it done properly...

One thing I liked in Star Wars Galaxies that I would like to see in swtor (if it's possible) is random events. For example, walking into Mos Eisley cantina (or others) and being inspected by storm troopers checking to see if I was flagged as a rebel. Or events when developers entered the game as special characters e.g., Darth Vader, and walked around giving a few quests (and choking your character if you interrupted him :D )
I would also like to see the return of some old abilities. My Mercenary for example really misses flame thrower which was restricted only to the melee subclass. I sort of understand why they did it, but it really made my merc feel less bounty hunter and a bit less interesting. I suppose if they plan to have the game work on consoles they'll need to streamline abilities even more since controllers have less buttons.

Putting the game on consoles is a step forward? that's debatable, platform was never an issue for the game, every bit of content after Shadow of Revan being mediocre garbage kind of was. no off the rail pve space flight, classes being tied to weapons, mediocre writing at best, the list goes on.. game had such a good start too, but talk about drop the ball.

the people who turn this franchise into a live service should never touch this franchise ever again I still have a bad taste in my all those years ago thinking this was going to be KOTOR 3

why? are they going to remove the abysmal MMO engine and mechanics?

All of the lighting has become completely and totally borked. And the characters look terrible too. I'm truly shocked that anyone can think any of this looks better. A massive misfire.

If the idea of remastering is to waste ressources on old worlds that are forgotten within days (because you reach level 50 within like 3 days) then its no wonder the game has grinded to an absolute standstill. I was shocked to find out players sit on the same patch storywise as they did when i played 2 years ago. Where has the money gone from tgose 2 years? Framework upgrades like dx 12 and 64 bit are totally important, but wasting ressources on something that could easily be outsourced to the modding community is dumb. If they would work together with the community to create a modkit that keeps the leash in their hand they would easily be much further by now.

Still looks like a pile of plastic garbage left in the sun.

oh also for bringing more content they could do like a nightmare colosuem sort of raid that is just bosses obviously its a nightmare but you could get shards to trade for armour etc and its treat sort of like a gauntlet with normal difficulty hardmode then bring back nightmare difficulty as the ultimate reward could also add modifiers to make it even harder or easier with rewards adjusting accordingly and all new weapon/gear in the rewards shop for shards from that piece of content

i would like old school servers more than a remaster but that will never happen

I recently tried to return, but the human male faces are all awful now. Their cheeks and foreheads are so overweight that all the faces just look like melted ice cream.

Im a founder of SWTOR and played for many many years, but not so much in the last 3 years due to my issues of FPS delays during PVP, it drives me crazy

LETS F@CKING GOOO, i was always too poor to afford a computer and I'm on track to getting my first one in about year or 2 and i thought the game would be taken off support by then. But hearing game is getting remastered is so much better then i could have ever imagined

i do have one question about the game coming to console, how would it be possible what with all the spells and ability's your character has. is there a keyboard and mouse for consoles? the controller wont be able to cut it i wouldn't think 🤥

i hope we can get cross play players like xbnox and playstaion players

They’ve learned nothing if they think some graphics updates will fix the massive player issues.

They dumped ranked PvP and replaced it with nothing for no good reason.
They haven’t had a content update in several years.
The game went crazy linear after the initial launch.
Companions are mostly meaningless now.

I bought the game for $70 and they turned it into a subscription based, microtransaction mess. Should've been super illegal.

I just came back last night on a new account after over a decade away from the game. Excited to to spend time on the game but someone on fleet said it was in maintenance mode which made me sad.

when you see what is possible on mobile game, this graphic update is very poor.

cool... maybe i play it again... i only played the first version of it. then the game was free to play with x skins and shit and become a clown circus

Hopefully it will be coming to console it would be good and it will bring in more people and more money

Just found this post as I am returning to game and so flooded with SWTOR content. I feel like this is great update...but what I really want is a new great open world space layer. I felt that the current space layers are just poor lazy dev work. The original space layer is nothing but a Nintendo Star Fox reskin. I was gaslighted by an original Dev in Beta, He said that the space layer was not important and space battles are not a major story point in Star Wars movies...that it was all about ground battles....I asked what part of STAR wars did he not get? How about the opening scene of the first SW movie EVER!! The Imperial Star Destroyer firing on the Corvette!! The Battle of Yavin 4? The Battle of Endor? This game is great they can make it better!!! GIVE US A BETTER SPACE LAYER!!!

With they amount of Money they make from the Gambling Boxes and Items in the Cash Shop, they need to keep the game better or they loose 500million + / year.

Wow that makes me so happy. I used to play it religiously as an alternative to WoW but the artstyle always bothered me a little bit.
