I listened to this brother sing again yesterday. Not only can he sing, he has a gentle spirit. How he started off, a little unsure of himself, “ can I really show my gift”. The look on the other brothers face was, go ahead you good.” From there it was on. I work with the homeless population. You never know what will put a person out there on them streets. People have preconceived notions, oh he out there because he is an alcoholic, she a dope fiend, not always the case. With those who it is the case, there is a term used, to be “trauma informed “ when dealing with people in those situations. If you knew some of the trauma many of them have been through, you or I could be in that situation self medicating our pain. Child abuse, I mean some serious sick mafu have hurt young ones real bad. It’s being brought to our attention right now. People as children scared to go home because of the unspeakable things that await them when they get there. You do realize that some foster care systems have been used a farms to pass children on to sickos. Young ones have come home and those they count on for care have just abandoned them. I live in Bmore Careful, Murderland (Baltimore, Maryland) 😊. I once had a client, man this lady was so intelligent. When she told me her story, she had been a doctor at John Hopkins, her 9y.o. daughter died from some disease I can not pronounce nor spell. She went in to such a dark place of depression, she went back to work but she wasn’t ready emotionally. The hospital gave her some more time to heal but she couldn’t get back on with life. Stayed in the bed, in the dark, stop paying her bills, lost her self love and self care for whatever reason she blamed herself, she was a doctor but was unable to save her daughter. She lost faith in herself and her god. Of course people tried to work with her but eventually she lost everything and ended up on those bricks. You just never know what a person has been through. I left for another position, I pray things have turned around for her, I pray the same for the gentleman singing this song.
