Thank you for sharing this video. The skillet you found at the thrift store reminds me of a lesson I learned after the purchase of a Faberware pot I found at a thrift store awhile back. It looked rough when I bought it for $3. Of course I washed it before using it. As I used it day after day I’d scrub it and everyday it looked newer. After awhile it was shiny as new from that rough pot I found. The lesson I learned was that God does the same with us. He scrubs us everyday until we’re shiny new. That pot has remained my favorite thing in the kitchen and I remember that lesson every time I see it. I hope your skillet teaches you a lesson.

Sounds like the real could use a little oil. A couple metal rods through the rack feet and then y branches could serve if you don’t have logs or big rocks.

Love the video man as usual but darn some of the prices for the small items was over priced for a thrift store. They are getting a little out of hand. But 99cents for a craftman file. Great deal. But 2$ for a used plastic Container. Idk about that.

I'm a yard sale and flea market guy all day long. I just picked up and old cast iron twist train jack. Guy at the yardsale gave it to me for free. Was the end of day and he didn't want to drag it back inside. I offer a few dollars for it but wouldn't t take it

I have the means to purchase expensive camping gear, but actually prefer cheaper, secondhand stuff. My favorite tent is a $10 garage sale Walmart brand. My frying pans are $3.00 used Calphalons, and a lot of my other stuff is leftovers from my US Army days.

Those crank flashlights are supposed to have a capacitor in them so you're not cranking the whole time you're using it. If it doesn't work after you stop cranking the capacitor might be broken.

I have come across a few, good finds at thrift stores. As far as camping goes, the best would probably be an MSR stainless steel 3 pot cook set. It was an older version, I think, but the current version is nearly identical and is listed at $94.44 on Amazon right now and that is about what it listed for new when I bought mine. I paid $8.99 so roughly $86 off. The set was missing the pot lifter. Big deal - a multi-tool, pliers or small vice grips work.

When I get those racks with 'feet' on them like you had in the video I also like to pick up some thin chain with clips. Sometimes, in the Spring/Summer Dollar Tree will have the rig that has three chains that all link at a central point to a single chain meant for hanging holders for flower pots. If I need four points of contact I can buy two rigs and take a chain off one to add to the other. Then I can flip the rack upside down, clip a chain to each 'foot' and use a tripod to hang the grate over the fire and, using the central chain, be able to adjust it up or down a little. If cooking a steak I would likely just cook straight on the grate as a grill as long as it is a good, solid stainless steel but they are handy for sitting a pot or pan on, too whether hung up or across two logs the way you did.

Those Keystone canned meats are great. Good quality, not a bunch of additives and taste really good.

I don't know what its like in your country, but in the UK festival attendees have a tendency to leave all their stuff behind, and then people come out and retrieve anything good, be interesting to see what you maybe able to pick up for free from a festival in a future video.

All i ever see at theift stores around here is maybe a cast iron pan that they try to sell for a new price. I went Rummage sailing and bought a kettle with a lid for 20 dollars, a different time, a skillet for 3 dollars. Both looked bran new. I use the skillet a lot.

Have you considered taking cotton balls, and soaking up meat grease or bacon grease after you cook your meals at home?
Put them in an old pill bottle, and you can use them as bait but also as fire starters if you need them.
I have several fishing poles like that. You've cast it like a normal thumb button cass drill but instead of pushing a button you have to put your thumb down on the line before it hits the water or it gets all tangled up.
With enough practice you can use it just like a modern rod and reel without any problems. The number one problem people today find is that the line tangles up.
Also whenever I get a used fishing rod the first thing I do is replace the fishing line.
The line gets old and brittle. And is easier to break and lose your fish.
I like to get the invisible fishing line You can run a heavier line with help you with snagging and bigger fish and they can't see it. It goes invisible in the water.
