Ive owned lots of Gibson LPs, but never an SG. I do prefer the SG neck dive to the LP body dive, though. Ill likely get one of the new SG Supremes when they come out. The LP definitely looks a lot cooler.
ОтветитьThe SG is my favorite when it comes to looks..awesome!. but playwise I dont get along with it..the neck placement is too "far away to the left"..if that makes any sense :) ... The LP on the other hand is too thick, heavy and bulky... I have a few of each though. But my vote goes to Nighthawks and Melody Makers (The 1965 design is great for me at least). Then again..Im a pretty lousy amateur player so my opinion has to be regarded in the light of that fact.. :)
ОтветитьWhat's going on with the sg's fret board? Looks like cardboard.
ОтветитьWorth mentioning the studio neck has a rounded ‘59 profile which runs on the thicker side. Other Les Paul models have varied necks, 60s slim taper, custom is slightly thicker, 50s is thick etc…
ОтветитьI like both. I have my LP days and my SG days. 😜🎸🤘
ОтветитьIf it says Gibson you overpaid for mediocrity and you should be embarrassed.
ОтветитьGibson calling LP as a flagship, but for me personally it's not. SG is more like a sport guitar from Gibson and it used to be like that in 60's when they started it. But modern market, business, money, even the first guitar shape called from a real name. I owned different Gibsons, but SG without neck dive is their real flagship model. Usually (but not only) they are heavy 3 kilos or even slightly more. And SQ is much better there. From pickups, they have P90, which are great and versatile even today in any genre.
ОтветитьI find that literally every Gibson has a different feel. I picked up 1 sg, didn’t like the feel and then picked up another one and fell in love. So it’s hard to have an opinion on how a Gibson feels and plays
ОтветитьIf you want to make a video like this with Fender, I have a few you can use 😏
