What's name of wax?

I have a question because I'm new at this, but do I have to seal the jars with wax? I'm tryin to make some for my husband so he stays safe at work, and I wanna make one for the car, but I like in a very hot climate and I'm afraid the wax would just melt everywhere, so I was wondering if I can just bind it and place a symbol charm on it?
