The Xbox Series S looks BAD on a TV....

I’ve been moving abit between a 1080p monitor with 144Hz on Series S and a Sony 4K 120Hz TV.

And while I do see that the quality still remain super on 1080p due to the higher PPI, what should be talked more about is HDR.

Going from full HDR10 support on the TV to just SDR on a high refresh and fast responstime monitor still felt like a downgrade.

Keep in mind that my TV is optimized for gaming with low latency and 120hz support.

We all must agree to the fact that monitors are better than TV for gaming. Less input delay and smaller pixels compared to a tv.A full hd 120hz monitor will be a heaven if you own a series s.

I have a 25inch monitor that is 1080p and runs 120htz.

My monitor also has game mode and a response rate of fast and faster. But when I put it in faster I seem to have like a blue light around players when playing call of duty.

I’m confused on what to do

I am looking to get a Smart TV and an Xbox series S, but I can only afford a 32 inch HD TV, will it look bad there?, how much difference will it make if i get a 32 inch TV FHD?

I have my Series X hooked up to a 50inch 4k 120Hz TV, but I prefer playing on my Series S setup on my 1440p gaming monitor. I think the desk,monitor, and gaming chair is the way to go

It’s just a cheap budget console so you can’t expect much. Some games look pretty decent others look worse than Xbox one. 😢.

I got a 4k/120hz TV for my series s today. Took me a few hours to mess with the settings, but rocket league on performance mode looks worse then Xbox 360. I'd say it looks about between a PS1 and PS2. It's literally that bad. Dreamcast looked better. GTA V on finesse mode or whatever it's called is unplayable, but doesn't look terribly bad on performance mode.

Always see this kinda shit it's your fuckin shitty tvs I got a 2019 q70r samsung 49inch n series s looks incredible n I have the one x n it's both 4k series s is upscaled yea but I payed 200$ 4 my xbox 4 the quick resume n next Gen features n I love the little white box 📦

I’ve got the opposite problem, the series S looks very fuzzy on my monitor (Acer XG270HU 2560x1440) but look really sharp on my very cheap Sharp 55” 4K tv. I’m trying to figure out why the image isn’t so sharp on my monitor, but looks pretty good on my tv. Any ideas?

Series s needs sharpness adjustment on 4k tv. Start a 3rd person game where you can turn the camera and look at the characters face. Go into to game mode and adjust sharpness up or down till the face looks good. Each tv is different my Hisense h9f the sharpness is 10 to 12 but my Sony x900e it's sharpness is set at 80. I know crazy. I think it has to do with most tvs not knowing what 1440p resolution is. Only my Hisense h9f has 1440p while my Sony is 1080p or 4k. Hope this helps I've been tweaking my Sony for a couple of days and yes games different games may need adjusted again.

I don't get why people would not shell out 200 more bucks to get a much better experience. I'm sorry, but if 200 is too much for you then you probably shouldn't have gaming as your hobby.

Great video. I just wished you could have included more technical points. TVs today are just so good at upscaling. I just upgraded to my series X from my series S on my lg c9 and it's hard for me to tell the difference.

Get what u can afford

At home I play my series S in my gaming monitor, is not an expensive one, 21,5" display at 1080p and 75hz, but is a great experience, but when i spent a month at my parents house recovering from a surgery, I setup my Series S beforehand in their TV, it's a 50" display and it was a pretty nice experience too, from a certain distance you will hardly notice any type of upscaling, in fact it can be less visible then up close in a monitor.

Great video. I got an ASUS TUF Vg27WB1b curved 1440p/165hz HDR monitor for my Series S and gaming looks SO much better than on my 65 inch 4k/60hz Series 4 TV.

I actually game on my old Vizio that's 1080p 60hz. Honestly my monitor is too sharp and bright and hard on the eyes. The TV being softer and less vibrant allows me to play longer. But if you want the best results a 27 inch monitor is pure beauty if you have all the right specs.

The S looks weird on my "22 BenQ and my 24" Westinghouse. It just looks over sharpened and low res at the same time. Kinda like the old days when you hooked up a 360 to a crt tv.

Xbox series S works great on my 4K TV, but I usually use it on a monitor and it still looks great so I don’t know what you’re complaining about ?

Check your TV for game mode setting. Sets higher refresh rate.

In the process of looking for a high refresh 1440p monitor to play my ps5 on, i really think it's the sweet spot right now, atleast until the pro mid cycle machines come out
