I have this odd memory of laughing at the victims of the episode every time they'd go into the light
Also she'd always paraphrase their words lol
I loved Rick, I think he was a great alternative for a “normal guy”. He doesn’t necessarily believe, but he’s still supportive and helpful in the ways that Jim can’t be. Jim understands Melinda. Rick understands the gift. Jim is self assured and consistent. Rick is quirky and awkward. Like the nerd and the jock trope grew up to be normal guys.
Ответитьomg thank you for this! i don't see many people talking about this great series
ОтветитьI watched the bloody mary episode as a child and its now the reason i fear my reflection
ОтветитьIt is my dream come true to have an in-depth video about one of my favorites shows as a teenager. Thank you, amazing video!🤍🤍🤍
ОтветитьGlad to see I'm not the only one who thought Jay Mohr and JLH had so much chemistry. I feel seen.
ОтветитьJIM CLANCY IS BABYGIRL
ОтветитьI hated the Jim-death arc. It felt entirely unnecessary. I stop watching after season 3 on rewatches.
ОтветитьMy mom and I religiously watched this show I love it
Ответитьjohn gray working through his fear of flying gave little me a mortal fear of a plane crashing on top of me forever
ОтветитьMedium did it better, with a much heartbreaking ending
ОтветитьI’ll never forget the little boy who died going back for a toy in the car. It was…it is easy to see the mental image of him reaching for that toy as the train comes down the tack
ОтветитьWow, never had somebody outside my family who also has the last name Stowe. So cool!
ОтветитьAndrea was the best friend ever for her
ОтветитьSo I watched this show live with my mum, we both stopped at season 4 after the whole Jim dies and goes into another guys body and then has amnesia. I had no idea there was a season 5 but it doesn't seem like I missed much lol.
ОтветитьI only know Jamie Kennedy from Circle Circle Dot Dot and Son of the Mask lmfaoo. I even watched Ghost Whisperer as a child and didn't realize he was Jamie Kennedy
ОтветитьI might be in the minority here, but I like Eli, I went in knowing he’s Payne’s replacement—so maybe that helped. I just think there were times that fleshed his character out more that I wish we saw a lot more of. Like the whole of his arc in season 5 actually interested me—especially the family stuff. They also hinted a lot about his work and what he did with it involving the police before the fire. I wish we could have gotten some expansion on those things because I feel like they planted the seeds to give him a unique character perspective, and they just never followed through.
ОтветитьI loved this show!!!
ОтветитьSounds like p.k. killed the show. He didn't pick up the ghost town thread, and he made the dumb casting decisions in season 4. Boooo
ОтветитьThe scene that scared me so bad I had to change the channel for a few minutes was Ned's cd-player scene. Ugh it still freaks me out to think about!
ОтветитьI only know this show through the intro and my Mom sitting on the couch, watch it. And then going upstairs to go to sleep. (I was in kindergarten when this show was on)
Ответитьthis show has made me cry more often than the school abuse i received as a teen ngl
shit was way too cathartic
EDIT: delia is one of my favorite characters i LOVE seeing her actress on all kinds of shows. was excited to see her on criminal minds for instance!
This show was my jam when I was a kid. I didn't know if I wanted to be her, or be with her (For real Melinda and Jim were my bi awakening couple 😂). She was a caring style icon who had a cool job and an even cooler power with the best husband. I love their relationship.
Ответитьi freakin loved this show when i was younger and when i saw it was on your channel from a bit in your most recent video i came over to watch it immediately lol. It feels like an underrated show but that's definitely from people either never seeing it or it just doesn't tickle most people's brains like it does mine (and yours lol) but I've always been interested in the creepy (or even gross and scary) stuff without being able to see thriller or horror growing up, so shows like "Ghost Whisperer" and "Bones (i liked the fake dead bodies) were fun outlets for me. I liked the main character because she was undeniably sweet and kind despite her many terrifying circumstances and i appreciated that in a show scene where relationship drama was the norm.
As much as I'm sure the beginning idea where hubby doesn't know until wedding night would've been interesting i like how uncomplicated their relationship is based on mutual trust, and I'd personally hope that's the case because if i had mystical ability I'd want my romantic partner to accept me in that before i marry them. but that's me.
I like your analysis style for your videos too, it's really fun, i look forward to seeing more from you :]
i watched parts of the show as a child because my nanny always had it on, as a small child very afraid of ghost i was both very interested and terrified by the show, very interesting to hear a true fans perspective on it!
ОтветитьI actually started rewatching the series and god it’s a good show. I do like how they had a character who didn’t believe that’s a close friend and an arc of her acceptance of it. Sooo good! Never been a Delia hater, but I was sooo annoyed by Ned. 😂
ОтветитьJim Clancy... truly TV's Kaidan Alenko
ОтветитьMy huge issue with Jim dying and then getting brought back in another body, but Melinda just sees Jim so that they don't need to do a different actor, is that it cuts a lot of things short and causes huge backslides in growth. From what I remember, the body having family and a life is more or less just kind of wrapped up in a couple of episodes and then we never see those people again. And that's insane, because from the opinion of his family, there should be some contact considering Melinda has a son and they'd view their relative as that son's stepdad. They even slowly just stop doing the reflection thing at all. And so in season 5, that's just Jim. And also they took Melinda, a character who had been very much all about accepting death and moving on, and she backslides entirely and never fully has to accept the one death she needed to accept while also still telling other people that they should let go of their own Jim. Jim gets to steal someone else's life while also continuing his own with negligible consequences. It just ended up feeling like a cheap shock where with the exception of a few episodes, nothing past those really changes on a fundamental level except Jim has a new job and there's a last name change. And I did end up only seeing those episodes on streaming, because I'd initially stopped watching during airing for other reasons, mostly just becoming more interested in other shows and missing episodes because of schedule conflicts. My hard line stance is that if you are going to kill someone's husband in a show where resurrection and hanging around aren't something people can or are supposed to do, then you need to commit to that. If he was going to die, he should have stayed dead.
ОтветитьJohn Gray is real for admitting he didn’t love the Jim storyline or Eli as a character🔥 you could tell the show changed when he wasn’t running, for worse. Thanks for asking him questions and for sharing this video
ОтветитьSlightly off topic but I was so fascinated with the show when I was a kid. It both scared the crap out of me (I was a very scared child) and intrigued me. I really wish I could’ve watched more of it but my grandma didn’t like the ghost stuff in it.
ОтветитьI've, sadly, only seen this series all the way through once. I never liked that they recast Ned's actor. I don't like it when shows age kids up via a time skip. I want to see these kids grow up, especially kids who are regulars (unlike Parker Booth from Bones who was in MAYBE 1-2 episodes a season)
ОтветитьI didn't mind Eli, but Jim's death and then taking over another man's body just felt...weird. I wonder if it might have been better if Jim's death had stuck
ОтветитьI can't lie- as a young man when the show was running, I started watching because JLH is an unqualified knock-out. The show itself kept me coming back. It had an empathy and subtlety that MANY other shows of the time didn't.
ОтветитьSo everyone and their mom watched this show right? Like literally me and my mom watched this all the time. Sometimes she’ll still put it on randomly
ОтветитьIf my man dont love me the way Jim loved Melinda, I don't want it.
ОтветитьI still watch this. Like literally every day.
ОтветитьLove all the shows you mentioned
ОтветитьIts the "why are there only 5 shadows if there's six of us?" for me. Talk about heartbreak.
ОтветитьJim was my sexual awakening 😆
ОтветитьWhen they ended Jim and made him switch bodies, I was literally dying in the inside. My Mom laughed at me for storming out in tears😂
ОтветитьI had completely forgot about this show and how much I loved watching it with my mom as a kid.
If anyone's looking for a wholesome show with a similar premise (without the romantic drama) you'll feel right at home with Natsume Yuujincho. Instead of ghosts, the main character can see yokai and has to deal with their appearances while he gets to learn more about his late grandmother who could also see yokai.
I've also watched it with my mom and she loves it as well 😊
They say Jim is too perfect, but his qualities sound normal to me. It's...ok to be a well adjusted human being.
ОтветитьOk and also Joe from Medium was a saint of a husband. He put up with some crazy shit and still held that family together.
Ответитьomg this show was on tv all the time when i was a kid i forgot it existed until just now
ОтветитьMelinda’s night gowns had a chokehold on my mom and I.
ОтветитьHarry styles one direction ❤kisses you more harry
