I so relate to what you are saying. I have never shied away from saying I’m an old lady now or everm elderly or I’m at level 50+! And I love every wrinkle and I’m always surprised of what hurts now 😂. I talk about it loud and proud. What I find sad is others don’t want to hear me call myself old, or aged, or elderly unless it’s convenient for them to call me that. I still work in corporate America and used to share my age so proudly u til I was “coached” not to tell me real age because I can pass for younger and that has its advantages. Like what?! The alternative to not aging is death. Why can we stand proud of going as woman? Because it goes against the societal norms. I’m also single now having lost the love of my life and I’m okay with being single and I have so much joy in just “being”. ❤ I’ll be 60 in October 🙏🏻.
ОтветитьWhat I would give just to have a piece of Art hanging in my home by Mother Knorpe. I truly believe we are all artists just on different frequencies of each other until our paths cross inspiration emerges like sparks and new ideas begin to stir within the brainstorm.
ОтветитьMarilla from Anne of Green Gables comes to mind.
I’m currently reading that book aloud with my daughter, and the most touching scene (it made me tear up) was the moment Marilla saw Anne coming home from the Barry’s party, injured from falling off the roof. It was at that moment Marilla realized that she truly loved Anne, even in a motherly sort of way. 💞
Sally Field as Forrest Gump's mom
ОтветитьClaire Fraser in Outlander. Books and TV series. An old Indian woman tells Claire she will come into her full power when her hair is white.
ОтветитьI did the same... totally grey at 50. I love my Grey hair.... my age has finally caught up to my hair color. Lol 63 now.
ОтветитьMegan Knorpp you are ONLY 45!!! Wait until you are 55, I told my husband 10yrs ago that I grew 2 more butt cheeks, well now that Im 55 Ive lost count!!! The one thing I havent been able to do is stop dying my hair, but just in FRONT where I see it🤭! God bless you as you grow with grace. 😊
ОтветитьYou find the greatest things at secondhand stores I was wondering do you still have your little collection I think they were needle points that were framed I can’t remember exactly but I would’ve never thought to collect those they’re absolutely beautiful and I haven’t seen them on the wall at this house.
ОтветитьMegan think this would make a great podcast have women you think that fits wot your looking for , how are knowledgeable have experience been older mother can help with advice to younger mothers and wife's how just got married dont no how run a house or how to cook
ОтветитьYou have a Jerry’s Artarama in Charlotte. You should go there for your art supplies. Way better than Michael’s.
ОтветитьStyle of the dresses you like megan are tea dresses love Style myself very simple very pretty also just brought same cookbook you brought from thrift shop from amazon uk for £13.49 thought it was good price hope you have lovely rest of day
ОтветитьYour old cookbook you could pass it on to one girls so that they can make recipes you marked
ОтветитьI feel like a lot of time they run the storyline of, 'she died during childbirth', and honestly that's a shame
ОтветитьI'd love more vids like this, please? I love the depth and passion of a fellow ENFP. I agree with you re aging, it's such a blessing and I look forward to it. I found my first grey hair last year and pulled it out to scrapbook. I came across it again on Sat and I feel joy that it's a sign that I am maturing!
ОтветитьThe WIN is definitely THE COOKBOOK 🥳✝️🤩 & of course everything else comes in SECOND PLACE… thanks for sharing 🎉🥳✝️
ОтветитьI think you look great. Are you putting a reddish rinse on your hair or this the natural color? Love it
ОтветитьJordan Peterson is not someone to take advice from sweetheart 😂
ОтветитьThank you for opening up about aging and starting a meaningful conversation! I also wanted to thank you for the video you published in, or around, March with the strength training challenge. Doing 100 each of crunches, jumping jacks, pushups, and squats. I’m 50 years old and have loved tracking my progress since I started on March 24th. Thank you for your vulnerability and genuineness, those qualities really shine in you
ОтветитьIf there was a positive to the pandemic, it meant I stopped highlighting my hair and just let it do its thing. I now get compliments all the time on my silver/blond/brown hair. I'm 48, and it doesn't bother me to age. It will happen to all of us.
ОтветитьI love these vlogs where you share some of your thoughts about life & what you’re thinking & experiencing about womanhood, etc. thank you for sharing!
ОтветитьI L❤ve your final painting!! You're so inspiring!!
ОтветитьI’m 65 and 6’ tall. I gained weight during menopause, but it was covid also and I probably did alot of emotional eating. I can disguise weight gain somewhat because of my height, but my clothes and my joints don’t lie. My red hair is very thick and curly and I haven’t lost any. My skin is still pretty much the same. Aside from a little dryness in my cheeks, I still don’t have crows feet or wrinkles. It’s true what they say, the older you get, the more comfortable you become in your skin. In the last year both of my pinky fingers acquired arthritis. My right thumb and wrist hurts, I understand that happens in menopausal women from loss of estrogen. Plantar fasciitis isn’t leaving anytime soon. I don’t know where the time as gone, I was just your age a minute ago Megan. Embrace your “youth” and what your capable body can do for you. You’ve taken good care of yourself, continue to do so. You’re a good 40 years away from being the woman on the wall😊
ОтветитьThat little cabinet … where you added the new plate. 🙇♀️ You have so many vintage Roseville Pottery vases. They are quite expensive now. 💙
ОтветитьI don’t know what it is about being a grandmother 🩷. I also at one time looked forward to it too. Clipping pictures like you. But alas, I could not have children, so eventually there went the dreams. Perhaps a part of it was - that I had such a fantastic grandmother and great grandmother.
You have a good 20 years until you become “old.” I wouldn’t rush it. More life behind you, than ahead.
Forty five, is still young.
Just ordered this cookbook online for $7.73. Thank you for the recommendation, I hope you’ll make some of the recipes someday and now I will be able to follow along!
ОтветитьOne of my favorite book series is by an author named Betsy Brannon Green. Its called, "Hearts In Hiding". It's set in a small town in Georgia and there's a younger couple in the middle of mystery type story but theres an elderly women who lives next door named Miss Eugenia and she and her friends are hilarious!! They know everyone and everything!! It's a murder mystery and so fun!!

ОтветитьIm down with the natural aging. Loving my gray highlights! Speaking of natural, is there any chance you could go back to teaching curly gurl/matron hair? YOUR beautiful curls put me on this journey. I NEED help!!
ОтветитьLove when you just chit chat, love everything. But you just carrying on brings me joy! Also 45 feel same why not embrace getting older
ОтветитьAging gracefully is so much more pleasant than trying to play the younger looking game. We've all seen the people who try too hard and look cringy or uber fake. Not for me.
ОтветитьIsn’t it funny how we all reach the aging thoughts in so many different ages. I remember 45 being kind of tough but I got over the phase quickly. Then it wasn’t til 60 that it hit me again for a bit longer. Now I’m 64 and feeling the body breaking down some and a degenerative “thing” surgery in a couple weeks. I’ll continue to fight it by remaining active and awareness of nutrition.
ОтветитьI loved everything about this and you
ОтветитьColoring your hair does not make you appear more youthful IMO. Your attitude can tho. You are a timeless beauty ❤
ОтветитьLove this little vlogs ❤ where is your skirt extender from?
ОтветитьSweetheart I am soon to be 67,and I love it,and I love myself!!! I wash my face with Dove soap sensitive and my skin is beautiful. aging is not a bad thing embrace your life and find joy with your wrinkles, gray hair etc. The most important for me and hope others will look in the mirror and say out loud I LOVE ME!!! Blessings to everyone for God will always guide your path in life❤
ОтветитьGood for you, Megan! Let’s normalize that it’s ok to grow old gracefully and not be fighting it tooth and nail! There is nothing wrong with menopause. My life isn’t over. I can embrace it and enjoy the journey! So proud you!!!!!
ОтветитьI am 44 and on the same journey of figuring out this aging thing. I've wrestled in the last few years with the shock of the changes to my face, body and well, everything! Not seeing that same young girl in the mirror has been a real struggle mentally and emotionally. THANK YOU so much for sharing your journey publicly. It's so refreshing and inspiring. I've come to the same conclusions as you to embrace the process with grace and i've also been leaning into Prov 31, even for the practical (i started working out because it says "her arms are strong"!). Anyway, thanks again for your insight and vulnerability!
ОтветитьSarah Plain and Tall
ОтветитьYeah, it took me by surprise how upset I was with parts of the aging process. Opened the door to lots of good self-work and soul-searching that is still ongoing.
Also, really happy this turned into an inspirational crafting/art video (I'm on the crafting side) and really liking the way things are framed and go out of the frame and the use of text and lines - very inspiring - I may just have to save this to my crafting playlist, even though I'll likely be gluing on a image and figuring out ways to set up a frame for it... 🙂Thank you, Megan, and my thoughts are with all of those missing their young colleague - very hard.
45 is not old, I’m 61 and I’m just starting to feel the aging, at 45 I felt vibrant. I still look young but I’ve always embraced aging. I don’t enjoy trying to be the age I’m not, too much work and upkeep 😂
ОтветитьWhat is gouache ?
ОтветитьYou have such a beautiful heart. I heard the story of that missionary and it broke my heart, I love that you painted them a gift. It's so thoughtful! The world needs more of that! I love this vlog style with you Megan. I feel like we're just hanging out! And I would love to be in your inklings group...wanna add a friend from Montana?? 😉
ОтветитьFried Green Tomatoes...lots of strong women of varying ages! Steel magnolias, Terms of Endearment, Secrets of the YaYa sisterhood, How to make an American quilt ❤ not a ton as you were noting but i just realized these movies with amazing and strong women are my favorite! Oh! Anything with Kathy Bates! A Home of our Own...my favorite movie!
ОтветитьI loved this vlog! Your painting was so beautiful, I’m so sorry for the circumstances but I’m sure they will treasure it. Your artwork is looking wonderful! Hope to see more! Acrylic will be so fun!
Check out the book Tatsinda if you can find a copy of it. The old, wise woman is one of my favorite characters ever. I know you’d appreciate it.
Fun following your journey! ❤
Yes! My favorite kind of video! I love the talking and processing. I hadn't read Proverbs 31 in years and the last time I did read it I was annoyed and fairly convinced that didn't really apply to us in the modern world. Thank you for sharing that you had studied it and loved it. I returned to it today and was incredibly moved. Now I need to find some friends to discuss it with. If you want to do a video dive into Proverbs 31 or member live discussing it I wouldn't complain ;)
ОтветитьLove this video!!
ОтветитьMarmee in little women!
ОтветитьMarilla in Anne of Green Gables is single but her aging and development is beautiful
ОтветитьEnjoyed spending the day(s) with you.
