I always look forward to seeing all your makes! You're Whitmoor is lovely. I have finally cast mine on and so far I love the lace pattern.
ОтветитьYour cardigan is beautiful and well worth all that frustration ❤
ОтветитьLove all your makes even that pom pom 😊. I'm thinking maybe you could unpick the facing on the Audrey, the zig zag stitch on a lightweight 2-3 inch soft lace near the raw hem of it. That might help reduce the bulk at the bust line. Just a thought.
ОтветитьYou've had good month. Love the fabric for your patina blouse especially. I think if I were making the cardigan I'd knit the rib neck band then put the stitches for the front ribs onto 2 safety pins; when you've finished the body knit the bands on the smaller needles making an extra stitch on the side of the band for sewing on when you start. 😺
ОтветитьYou did a beautiful job with your sweater. I would not have the patience for that!😅 Have a great weekend my friend! Stop by and say hello!
ОтветитьSometimes it’s just not worth doing the Burrito method. I just used the “old fashioned method” last night due to the fragility of my fabric. Directions are guides, not gospel.
Your patina blouse is perfect and my favorite “current pattern”. I like the first pinafore better than the last. I think your lacy sweater is your “make of the year. Maybe your make of the decade!
Pompoms always use way more yarn than you think they ought to turn out full and puffy.
ОтветитьDino facing! You're such a rebel!!!
ОтветитьSarah - you are so clever and so stylish xxx
ОтветитьYour garments are all delightful Sarah. I have sadly lost interest in sewing lately because I'm not satisfied with my seam edge finishes. What method do use in place of a serger?
ОтветитьI also found knitting the Whitmoor front bands on separate needles very fiddly. I got the little bamboo needles recommended in the pattern and it was like knitting with cocktail sticks! The lace yoke is lovely, so I shall make the sweater next time. Your Whitmoor looks absolutely beautiful.
ОтветитьI really enjoyed this video Sarah. I love your Witmore. It's really helpful to hear about the tricky placket. I think a jumper might be a better option for me. I really love your Patina blouse. The fabric is gorgeous. Have a lovely weekend ❤❤
ОтветитьThat beanie is great and the pompom is fine! Next time….keep winding the pompom until you almost can’t anymore- I remember my mum drilling me on not stopping!!! when I thought I had plenty of wool.
ОтветитьThanks for putting out videos as much as you do- I love watching your makes and comments on the fit and the instructions.❤
ОтветитьI wonder if the double pointed needles could be replaced for a short circular needle which would stop the stitches sliding off?
ОтветитьLove the blouse with the embroidered material..it look like gorgeous silk fabric. ❤
ОтветитьThe Audrey looks lovely on you, including the colour. I agree with you about the facing, although I couldn't see the line. But it's important how you feel wearing it. 😊
ОтветитьThe cardigan is gorgeous…..😊🇦🇺🍂
ОтветитьGreat video. Loved all your May projects..❤❤❤
ОтветитьI had the same issue with the shoulders, I could not pull the velvet fabric through. I too unpacked and redid but it was just too thick so had to overlock lining and body and topstitch down
ОтветитьHi Sarah. Thanks for sharing your makes. I don't have an overlocker either, but I have found that I don't need one. Most sewing machines have an overlocking stitch, but people don't know what it is. The symbol usually looks like a series of triangles between two parallel lines. You have to use a special foot that comes with the machine to make it work properly, but it is easy to do. Check your machine. I'll bet you have this stitch. Even the machine I bought about 25+ years ago had one. Happy sewing!
ОтветитьYou've made some lovely makes. The patina blouse is so pretty.
