That means she’s white passing too
ОтветитьLa madre sembrava più una maori
ОтветитьPeople avoiding the sun to not get dark while here in nigeria i was light skinned till i turned 7 i stayed in the sun a lot everyday and now i'm dark and i'm so happy about it
ОтветитьI miss this Megan Kelly ...What happened to her to make her turn into a full blown racist???
ОтветитьSo her mom was black
ОтветитьWith that picture, i would have thought she was maybe Italian, if I didn't hear this story.
ОтветитьIt's so absurd that this is / was such a big deal
ОтветитьGet treated better at the hospital , she said it without saying it
ОтветитьMy great grandma was indigenous but white passing and it was hard to find information on her because she had used a few aliases to pass as white. In Canada where I’m from, indigenous people weren’t allowed in certain establishments. There was racial segregation here as well.
ОтветитьOk so what she’s half black. Why is this news?
ОтветитьThis is more of a societal issue. If you could pass as white back then, why wouldn’t you? It would clearly benefit you. I do understand why she published the book to document the history of people who lived this way. But the core issue is that if you can pass, it means you already look white enough. You don’t really have to “do” anything; people will just assume you’re white unless you actively reveal otherwise.
ОтветитьPaul Mooney always said shake these family trees long enough and some monkeys that fall out
ОтветитьThat one drop law . Started all this. The census takers back then were the most racist people denying people with their true heritage roots and culture
ОтветитьBut but but “ racism doesn’t exist” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 that poor women. The mental torture you people put her and so many others through for your own drummed up supremacy is disgusting!!!! And it happens everyday.
Ответить😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьThis is what we mean when we say race is a *social construct*. "Passing as White" proves that we determine race instinctively using PHENOTYPE (how you look) and will treat people based on how they LOOK, but then for some reason we begin to question or SHIFT our perception when we learn someone's ancestry. Her mom was genetically mixed race, but socially White because she LOOKED White
ОтветитьIn the age of Trump, what stands out to me is how she talks about her father's racism. She specifies he was bigoted "at home." When something on television or in the newspaper that "inspired" him, he would use racial slurs. He was a "typical man" of his generation. Trump has emboldened people to make this kind of bigotry the norm in public. They felt suppressed because it was no longer acceptable to behave this way indignantly in public.
ОтветитьHer mother was stunning and everyone knows the mix of white and black is always a great mix people born like that are for the most part stunning looking ..
ОтветитьAll the harm the lie of whiteness has caused is insane
ОтветитьI think it’s very sad that she had to live a lie to be accepted.
ОтветитьThe issue of color or race is still a factor especially in this country 😳 Would it meant anything if she in a white in a black family 😳
ОтветитьThe evil of the White Supremacy of Amerikkka in society.
ОтветитьThat lady and grandmother should not worry because her mother was white anyway. They’re more white than anything😌.
ОтветитьWow, what a change here for Megyn Kelly from what she's doing for this segment vs the hyperbolic and divisive slop she does today.
ОтветитьNow in 2025, it’s gone to the other far extreme. We went from one extreme, sat comfortably in neutrality for a short time and then jumped way over to the opposite extreme. At some point it would be lovely if we could return to that neutral point and stay there.
Ответить🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
ОтветитьSo madame was a light skin creole from Louisiana?
ОтветитьAkward video style
Ответитьhmmmm rather relevant to our current Pope's family history, too.
ОтветитьI'm mixed as well and I don't deny any of my heritage because I come from a loving background and I love myself no matter what.
ОтветитьI was born and grew up in the Apartheid system in Southern Africa, and many people who passed for white played that card for all that card for all it worth and a little more.
A family friend, one sister out of 6 siblings, was always sent to to the shop to buy bread because she would come home with fresh bread. If one of her siblings had gone, they were given the old bread. She could also use the "whites only" bathroom and other spaces, her siblings born to the same mixed race mother and father couldn't.
What's really crazy is that this woman would've probably had an entirely different life if she came out just a shade or two darker when she was born.
The father would've definitely raised an eyebrow.
There is no such thing as " passing ". There are black people with European and African ancestry, there are white people with African and European. We are now living in the 21st century folks !
ОтветитьBlack people should have never been treated the way they have been and you all are just agreeing with bad history like it was cute to mistreat black people
ОтветитьBlack people should have never been treated the way they have been and you all are just agreeing with bad history like it was cute to mistreat black people
ОтветитьThe mom married a man who hated the real her and that's not romantic!!!!
ОтветитьThe mother did not win in life just because she passed as white and married a white man. White people aren’t superior!! There fake superiority should have been pushed onto others. White people are mutated humans not anything superior
Ответить“In 1944 after the war” 🫡
Ответитьhmmm interesting
ОтветитьHow I hated Megyn’s show! She’s too hateful person and this show wasn’t fitting for her!
ОтветитьTODAY should erase every video of Meghan Kelley!!!! Disgraceful
Ответить"All women are actresses, but only some get paid."
- a quote from Netflix movie titled "Murder Mystery" (starring Jennifer Aniston and Ben Affleck)
Meghan Kelley would’ve killed her self if she found out her mother was black 😂😂
Ответитьim not surprised, as most of us who were born in the mid to late 1900's to the present are biracial in our DNA and family history. no matter what race is most dominant on the outside or what race is shown on the outside, we are all mixed blooded people. it doesn't shock me at all, this white lady is very dramatic and overreacting.
ОтветитьThe white ladies facial bone structure, actually shows she is black. I'm not sure if im only seeing that because she is the one revealing she is black. But you can see a difference in form and angles.
ОтветитьSounds like a lie so she can sell her book
ОтветитьSkin color doesn’t matter as much as the inside of a person
Ответить
