What's the opinion on their accuracy? I feel the ring design should change such that the lower part is some fabric such that it can be ok while doing weights.

You aren't supposed to take off the whoop. Shouldn't have to be choosing between which to wear.

I you have a cardiac arrhythmias, the Oura ring is useless in its current version. Whoop is OK.

Nice conclusion. You made it clear which works for better for the user's purpose and didn't go into too much detail about your what you did, making it clear they're pretty accurate.

I think you're supposed to wear the whoop 24/7 for on 30 days to get the most accurate results it kind of confuses me how you weren't wearing them all the time

Awesome video jam packed with useful information. Thank you! I'm leaning Oura as well. I have sleeves on both arms so I have to get a very specific spot on my right wrist for my apple watch to really work much at all. Not sure if I'd have that issue on whoop but I know with oura I won't. & Will be much more likely to be comfortable wearing the ring to bed vs a watch

I'm leaning towards the Whoop. I train mostly with kettlebells. A ring would get trashed very quickly with constant scraping on the kettlebell handle. I have a Garmin Smartwatch, but that also is in the way when I train with kettlebells, so I end up taking it off 75% of the time I work out. What attracts me most to Whoop is being able to wear the tracker on my upper arm... Where it won't be in the way or get damaged.

I don't see what's appealing about Whoop. Being trying it for a month, and it's entirely unexciting. Why on EARTH would I pay a subscription for it? Also, selling the product only with proprietary metrics and readings, with a "we-know-better" approach, not recording heart rate on demand, or steps....why? To top it off, for a product without a screen, the battery life is what I could only describe as laughable. Will not be using it after the free trial.

Both is nonsense from a pov how valid the data collected is. One is a ring with complete trash HR tracking and the other is a mediocre wrist HR tracker pretending to measure HRV...etc. Sorry but the deviation is around 20>% and by that completely useless. People get their panties wet when whoop warns you you get sick when all it measures is RHR. Its a toy for people liking toys. Nothing wrong with that but thats it.

To be honest I am interested in both devices to gain more data, but what an absolute no go is for me is the membership stuff, I mean everyone knows that you pay with your Data on every health or fitness device (Garmin, sunto, fitbit etc.) but now as an next level you pay with your data AND an additional fee to get YOUR data is an absolute stupid thing and for real should not encouraged on any level as the new normal 🥸

Having watched a lot of videos especially of quantified scientist, I'd say if fitness is your thing, just get a sports watch or smart watch. GPS and heart rate are significantly more accurate on those.
That being said, Oura ring seems like a better form factor, less annoying for sleeping and you can wear other stuff on your wrists like analogue watches etc

Mate, excellent video. I’ve been thinking about getting each of those to move away from my Apple Watch as I find it flares my psoriasis up on my wrist. I know you touched on price/subscription on the Oura ring in a different video, but would have made the video even better if you’d discussed the differences between the two here. Keep up the great work.

Oura is a dishonest company. They misled customers with their “free membership” so that you are unable to refund once they start charging subscription. Without subscription, it’s useless and offers same step info default from your phone. Really sneaky practice and if you search online there are at least 800 complaints on their dishonest sales practices. Especially when they change policies they do not allow option for old customers to update their plan. Purchased two of these at full price and was hit with “subscription” after. They apparently purposely do not disclose how it’s useless without.

My primary goal is something to track SpO2 rate, especially when excercising. I have stage 1 COPD so when doing crossfit workouts I can feel when I need to stop and let my breathing catch up. However the coaches don't seem to understand this; it would be nice to point to my phone showing blood oxygen below 90% so they'll get out of my face! I think the Whoop might be the better choice for me but will have to do more research.

After about 2 months and seeing a bunch of videos i decided to go with whoop, i think the Oura ring it’s a better wearable look wise but there are some videos out there where they test both devices out and the Oura ring is way off a lot of the times according to the studies and the whoop on the other hand is more accurate overall.
