Here's one thing I just noticed: at one point he complains about the War Rig driving a long way on one tank of gas (because of course, big trucks are such short-range vehicles), then later he complains about them not taking the long way back to Immortan Joe's base. Was he expecting them to have found a petrol station somewhere? Or does he just have no short-term memory?

Thanks for the video. Like many CinemaSins viewers, I had previously not understood the word “satire,” but after watching your videos, I now realize that I was using it incorrectly and CinemaSins is not, in fact, satirical

Revisiting these old videos of Shaun’s, you can really hear that he’s either from the Merseyside area, or he’s lived there a while and picked up the accent. Pretty cool to me, but I am odd.

Also a possible reason for why they strapped Max to the front of the car, it's terrifying which would hit Max with some adrenaline which makes the blood pump faster for the transfusion. Also there's no other place to put him in the car.

I remember seeing a random BTS of CinemaSins and Jeremy said that his process for writing sins is:
Watching the movie
Pausing the movie during certain scenes and
Making note of the time and writing the sin

So, he literally writes sins as soon as he thinks of them regardless of whether or not the scene explains the "sin" seconds later. What a brilliant writing process.

The critiques Cinemasins bring up seem to treat media like it's a first draft in a workshop environment. "What's the deal with the chalky bois? Why are they all chalky?" is exactly the kind of question I get about minor aesthetic details of my fantasy writing when going through workshop. People are curious about the world/backstory and since the story isn't fully fleshed out or finished, it can be difficult to know which details are important and in need of expansion at that early stage. Similarly notes like "why didn't the War Rig just take a different route back to the citadel?" would be a wonderful question if the writer hadn't yet considered that possibility, and then put in the conversation about beating Joe back to the citadel in response to the feedback.

The problem is that Cinemasins isn't in a first round of workshop. They're critiquing highly revised, edited, and crafted material. And they're clearly not paying close enough attention to that craft to provide any insight for it's improvement.

I used to like cinemasins, back when I hated movies. There's still not my favorite type of media by a long shot, but as I get older I find more and more films I appreciate and enjoy, and don't hold those negative feelings towards the entire format anymore. Now I can see that it was essentially the equivalent of reading headlines that make me angry but never the actual article.

How do you not get it's satire. You shouldn't take everything so seriously! It's just a joke man!

I'm kidding, I love your CinemaSins videos, and come back to them every once in a while, when I need something comforting to put in the background

There’s definitely an element of comedy to cinema sins videos with the running gags of

Say a movie trope and ding it, even if the trope is done well or justified or isn’t even overused

I do think there’s some people who take the criticism seriously and learn to have a negative reaction to tropes because they believe any use of tropes is bad.

Frankly I find that I get a much greater amount of joy from Cinemawins as I just find it more fun to watch someone praise something rather than deride something

My understanding of the movie was that the War Boys are all dying of radiation poisoning, we know from the opening that humanity’s living in the wake of a nuclear fallout, and the boys call themselves “Half-lives”, which is a term referring to nuclear decay. That’s why their hair’s all fallen out, why they’re all ashy, and why they need constant blood transfusions from “full-lives” like Max, eg. healthy individuals.

Cinemawins is way better.

Saying "thing bad" is just easy content; talking about things you love isn't just harder, but it spreads positivity.

Ntm that Wins often highlights small details, which will give you newfound appreciation for the subject film.

There's something about Joe wasting all that water dumping it on the ground next to desperately thirsty people that, in a world of stores and restaurants pouring chemicals over good food when they throw it out to keep hungry people from dumpster-diving for it . . . I don't know, I feel like it could be seen as a metaphor for some as-of-yet unnamed system in real life that uses incredible waste and artificial scarcity as tools to coerce and control people in some kind of hierarchy. Can't quite put my finger on it.

This is awesome. Cinemasins probably used to be good. But they have to keep making content in the same fashion and are probably running out of movies bad enough to count that many "sins". They are periodically good for pointing out real plot holes, but their definition for a movie sin is extremely poor. Thanks for this

“The real reason that the movie doesn’t get bogged down in unnecessary exposition is that it’s really, really good.” Pretty much everything wrong with cinema sins in one sentence. They repeatedly blame the movies themselves for their own failures to understand what’s going on. Basically replace Siskel and Ebert with Dunning and Kruger.

while irrelevant to the plot, why the war boys are bald is quite easy to guess at too: they live in close quarters and very likely with poor hygiene, so being bald would remove any risk of lice. Also considering their occupation sometimes will have them crawling around on very fast moving vehicles and near constantly working with heavy machinery being bald removes any risk of accidental scalping incidents.

I'm 100 percent convinced Cinemasins just puts a mic to their face and records while they watch the movie for the first time and just records their blind unintelligable reactions as they watch without any thought or foresight whatsoever. Its edited to make it look professional but literally its just a react channel without the webcam in the bottom right of the screen

Their fans do claim that they are a parody of nitpicking film critics, and therefore they get things wrong on purpose. But a. They mix in some genuine complaints/plot holes, so that doesn't make sense. And b. They don't show the bits of the movie that actually reveal the sins are incorrect. How can the joke be that the critic is a nitpicking idiot if you always present him as being correct. The audience would have to be very familiar with the movie to recognise that the sins are all bullshit. And cinemasins fans always agree with the sins as well, and often even thank cinemasins for helping them avoid a bad movie. It can't be both, you brainless fucking amoebas.
